And while I'd love to take kids with me, I'm thinking it might not be a place for kids - not even if they're old enough to do their own running. Similarly, I wouldn't take young kids fishing without life jackets, even if they could swim. It just sounds like a bad idea. Political conventions have a history of protests, and protests aren't barbecues.
