If You Love Peace, Become a "Blue Republican" (Just for a Year) HuffPo Article

really good, imagine these people all coming over and taking over the GOP just to ensure that no matter who win the election they win......or so they think they do (referring to obama)

Best article on RP I've ever read. I identify with his perspective.

Sheesh... I searched for "huffington post" before posting and it turned up nothing!!

Don't let the negativity wear you down. You deserve credit for being proactive in an important area.

Some key things ...

Don't expect a lot of open support for the idea. The last thing Ron Paul needs to win a GOP primary is "Hey look, he's loved by Democrats!" That said, McCain was under consideration as a VP for Gore before he took the nomination. One of his selling points was that he could work both sides of the aisle.

Pay attention to the open primary states. While getting people to change registration would be great, I don't see it happening en masse.

Keep things issue focused ... then let the issues point towards Ron Paul as the solution.

Hardy Macia is hard at work trying to bring Ron Paul support over to Gary Johnson on the FB page. Good lord, give it a rest already HM.

Judge Napolitano just shared the article on his facebook too! :D

Be careful not to sell it in a way of putting down Obama, but giving them a choice between Obama and an anti-war Republican.

Attacking Obama puts Dems on the defensive as they most likely voted for him.

Some may like Obama more than Ron Paul but prefer to hedge their bets if Obama should lose.

I'll acknowledge that your warning should be given serious consideration. But if worded carefully, I don't think that putting down Obama will turn off those independents/Democrats that we're looking for. The important thing is to not implicitly or explicitly criticize a vote for Obama in 2008. I voted for Obama in the general in 2008. Probably a not-insignificant number of us did. And most of us shared a lot of the same concerns, hopes, and intentions (most notably those in the article). The key is that we have been disappointed; our good intentions have been disrespected and abused, and that should and does upset us. And we will do something about it...

...We'll vote for Ron Paul!

Why when I type in 'blue republican' in the facebook searchbox,I get results for pages with other names and maybe 10 members and not the blue repulican page with 898?

EDIT: The search worked 5 out of 10 times.I logged out and then back in for the last 2 searches and it worked neither time then.

I think this is because the group is so new, it takes time for facebook's search to pick up the group.

RUMOR - FireDogLake staff are in turmoil because Jane Hamsher may be all-in for Ron Paul 2012. She has some influence to say the least.
