If you happen to be in Cali tomorrow!

I did two big ones like this, with the URL of the real delegate count site. The message about the troops was on the backside.

The two like this that I put up before sunup, I put the side with the URL and the Media is Lying facing the freeway.

I'll try to get pics of these ones from the freeway tomorrow if I can do so safely. :D

David Miller running in the 32nd us congressional district is a ron paul republican.

But it's a tax only for people purchasing cigarette's, it doesn't affect non-smokers. But I see if part of the liberty movement is to rid taxes, than it's seems reasonable to vote no.

I don't smoke and still voted no. As I see it any tax strengthens government and pulls money from people who make it and have the right to decide how best to spend it. Besides the guilt trip angle to sell this tax wears thin. In addition isn't a selective tax, a tax put upon a class of people or a group behavior unethical? How about if they tax your religous beliefs? let's tax religous brand (X) and not religon (Y). You are brand (X) which is taxed but I'm of (Y) belief so that's ok then?

First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I made these on 8' x 4' plywood and used chains and padlocks to secure them, to make it really difficult to remove them. I even screwed on little metal plates near the chain holes so someone couldn't easily tear apart the plywood where the chain holes are. I hope it pissed off people who thought they were going to just take 'em down... LOL Going to check tomorrow (election day) to see if they're all still up... And of course I'm taking them down promptly after the polls close, probably tomorrow night.

NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, in the trenches dude in the trenches, I would be proud to share a fox hole with you ;)

+rep I am hoping it doesn't come to some shit like that. I cast my vote a few weeks back from here in beautiful sierra county. That same day I was walking around in an old mining area and down by the stream I found a near 2 oz. piece of gold!!! Ron Paul is gonna win...

My wife just called her parents and confirmed that they voted for Ron Paul up in Big Bear, CA today. A few weeks ago they thought Ron Paul dropped out and were not going to vote.

I understand this could lead to more taxation towards other things, but this one is specifically against smoking in general. The backers of No for prop 29 include the cigarette manufacturers themselves. I don't know if they'd really start taxing other groups or other things the same way, though it's possible they could find a reason. If they were to tax a religious belief, there'd probably be more of an uproar over it, though I understand how tax props such as this could lead to more taxation.

Perhaps for sake of my own conscience I won't vote at all for this prop.

Prop 29 has nothing to do with trying to get people to quit smoking. That never works. The more you raise taxes on cigarettes the more people will go outside the state to buy them.

What does Prop 29 do?

Creates More Bureaucracy, Taxes & Spending

Allows our Tax Dollars to be Spent Out of State

Doesn’t Provide Any New Funding For Cancer Treatment

Allows Board Filled with Political Appointees to Spend Up to $125 Million Every Year on Buildings, Bureaucracy, Salaries and Benefits

Permits Conflicts of Interest By Allowing the Commission to Give Grants to Organizations that Employ the Commissioners

Provides Virtually No Accountability or Controls Against Waste

Locks in These Flaws by Prohibiting the Governor, Legislature and Even the State Auditor from Making Changes to the Initiative For 15 Years

I understand some of the key points, but let me weigh in on some of them.

As far as taxes, I understand that for the sake of the liberty movement this prop isn't doing us any favors.

Now they say it will create $735 mil in taxes, but doesn't that specifically come from cigarettes? I see no problem with that except when it comes to forcing people to stop smoking rather than communicating effectively with them.

The prop 29 group does get accountability, you can read it the info on http://californiansforacure.org/facts/faqs/TobaccoLie4

Whatever the case, I didn't vote yes or no on the prop.

Yes, the tax will come from cigarette purchasers but that's $735 million a year taken out of the private sector and given to inefficient government bureaucrats. Would you rather want the government or the private sector in control of $735 million?
