I've always thought Ian McKellen or John Hurt would be good Ron Pauls.

Not sure about Robert Downey Jr. though.

He's not old enough yet, but once they start getting ready to make a Ron Paul biopic (probably a couple decades from now), I think the perfect actor to play him will be Lee Tergesen.
