If someone is a Christian, it is a contradiction to be a democrat!

Democrats are pro-choice, Jesus does not support Murdering babies!!

THOU SHALT NOT MURDER!
1 of the 10 commandments!

Thus if someone is a Christian, it is a contradiction to be a democrat!

Oh yeah, and GOD says Homosexuality is a "ABOMINATION" and democrats support Gay rights.... i.e.... Adoption, marriage, ect...

Thus if someone is a Christian, it is a contradiction to be a democrat!

Well, for that matter, Christians are also against torture, unjust war, which many in the republican party support.

There is no perfect party/candidate out there... although in my opinion Ron Paul is a pretty good choice in almost all matters, I don't think he supports anything I consider gravely evil. At the end, sometimes one needs to make choices of what evils are most likely, what is better for the country as a whole.

Just dont be a neo-con and you should be fine.

Go away!

I don't make threads pointing out all the failures of religion because I don't want to alienate and offend people!

If you insist on staying, can you try to do the same!

so we need laws to combat adultery?

Actually Christianity is about choice.... O.o It is God's greatest gift to us, born out of the great love he has for us.

Amen brother!! He has given us the ultimate choice to worship him or not....that says it all!

and if you choose to worship him, and follow him, you have to follow what he says..... Murdering babies is not something he condones, neither is being gay. infact, it's a sin.

The Word of God says that people that are lookwarm will be spit out of his mouth.

no, but adultery is not legal, and you can be divorced if you do you do it.

I'm not following you at all. No fault divorce is the most common application today, you can be divorced for anything.

I also don't want to criminalize working on "the Lord's day". The 1st commandment is a big violator of the 1st amendment as well.

No major party subscribes to your views. Which is why I find this silly singling out the democrats.

There is a big difference between following the rules and forcing them on people through government fiat. All you are doing is cheapening Christianity by removing choice in the practice of it.

So let me get this straight. What you are saying is....

1. Your God says homosexuality is a sin.
2. If you worship this God, you also have to think homosexuality is a sin.
3. If you worship this god, you have to support a political agenda that tries to make sin illegal.
4. If you worship this god, you must try to make homosexuality illegal.

BUT

1. Your god has also given his people the gift of "free will."
2. The choice for two men to adopt a child is something they should be able to persue as part of the free will they recieved from your god.
3. If you take away a man's free will, you are taking away a gift from your god.

So which is it? Do you think your God would approve of you actively working against him by attempting to interfere with his gift of free will?

I think not.

I'll see you in hell. :D

I don't need God's laws to be my country's laws for me to follow them. In fact I come from a country where Prostitution, Abortion and Civil Unions are legal. If anything, this allows me to be more of a light shining in the darkness.

Jesus came to seek and save the lost - not to Ostracise them.

The logic of your post is sound.

Christians who believe the Bible as the Word of God are to adhere to and advance the law of God in whatever society and capacity they can. It is sinful and inconsistent to say you are a Christian and then practice or promote what God has repeatedly condemned in His Word.
If the Bible says that homosexuality, adultery, or child molestation is sin, then I (as well as everyone in the world) am obligated to concur. Why? Because we are not talking about a man or womans opinion, but the mind of God. Is He not able to tell us how to live?

A kindred spirit :)

A Christian should espouse to neither party but vote a godly conscience. If there isn't a choice available - then abstain. Or write in a good man...like Ron Paul.

Christians choose the lesser of evils all the time. Each has issues closer to their own hearts. And, honestly, it takes a mighty narrow minded and intolerant person to condemn a pro-choice Christian. After all, many pro-lifers would not even make an exception for rape. I cannot think of a worse torture for an innocent rape victim than to force her to carry the rapists child to term and then have to look at the child and decide if her maternal instincts can overcome her anger.

Would that the world provided choices that were as black-and-white as they are protrayed in abstract by those with no real connection to the situation. Alas life is--and we are--more complicated than that. No wonder Jesus advocated tolerance.

Interesting how your religion is twisted for political gain.

Most Christians were once Democrat... abortion was an evil, but a necessary allowance. Now, you have politicized the church, and it, as an entity of the antipathy, contrary to every principle of freedom, twists itself into compliance to the group most willing to secure you room in the feeding trough.

To shame with most of you Christians, and what your vote did to this country in the last 8 years.

Don't blame me, Kade. I didn't vote for Bush. And what if Gore had been elected in 2000? We'd be paying individual carbon taxes by now to sponsor state-mandated pantheism.

Nope, socialist that he is and though I don't agree, I voted for Nader in the last 2 because he represented (to me) a more domestically focussed federal government.

Preemptive war is not something Bush, Christians, or the Republicans invented.

Turn around for a second, you will find your precious glass home shattered in a million pieces.
