I am all about dissent, heck I wouldn't be a Ron Paulite if I weren't, but why is there one regarding what we do if RP doesn't run?

I proposed in 2008, after RP quit the campaign immediately after McCain was nominated at the RNC, that we all, ALL, pool our resources and vote Libertarian. I heard a lot of complaining along the lines of Libertarians being dorks with cooties and other equally mature reasoning why not to vote for LP. The result was, we got Obama.

I will not ask individually will you, reader of this, vote for LP or not as your voting choice is none of my business. But I will ask, urge, beg, plead, implore and so on, that, indeed, as a group, we all give our votes to the LP and, if not give them the presidency, then, at the very bare bones least, make them that much stronger as a political body with a set philosophy.

The problem with this, him running in the LP or independent (aside from the staggering inherent bias the voting system is designed for against third party), is that he'll lose his committee appointments, especially after gaining this Fed oversight thing after thirty goddamned years of waiting for it.

Forgot the poll in the other post....

If Ron Paul doesnt run, who would you support or vote for so we dont get a Mcain, or other neocon moron in office? Any why?

If other please state who and why..

Jeb Bush makes your list, but not Gary Johnson or Rand?????? The thread sucks. Rated it terrible.

OTHER
None of those listed. Voted for Chuck last time.

If the GOP pushes another Business as Usual candidate it really won't make any difference. win of lose.
They have proven to me just as Globalist as the D's. No substantial difference.
:(

I am a regular LP voter, but Bob Barr thumbed his nose at Ron Paul's third party candidte debate. That was a disgrace. Add that to Barr's track record as a neo-con, I couldn't bring myself to vote for him.

Ron Paul will run.

Gary Johnson will run.

Useless poll is useless.

The poll should be renamed to "Who do you trust to actually limit government when they get into the Office of the President?", and only then do the answers and poll make sense. :)

The LP did not get more support because it was a lesser of 3 evils choice. Bob Barr was a disgusting choice and would have been just a repugnant choice as having voted for Caribou Barbie and the Bomb Iran duo. Dh and I voted Constitution Party last time. If LP wants to have a shot at it they need not run another schmuck like Barr this next round.

Ron has to run...

But if he didn't, the only other person I could vote for is Gary Johnson.

If another neo-con is elected this time, it's escape preparation time.

All $ to gold and guns.

The United States will be a place I will be "from".

^^ this. If they had gone with Renault I would have voted L, or anyone principled, even if I didn't wholly agree with them -- I'd have been making a point about principled parties, and was willing to believe that is what the L party would choose. Barr didn't remotely fit that mold.

They frankly lost a big opportunity with me. Now, I see them as just another 'political' party, which means I take it candidate by candidate, and if there is a candidate I feel POSITIVELY towards who has a real chance of winning, I'd likely go there instead. If I feel negatively about all, that would put me in a different situation. OR if I felt VERY positively towards an L candidate, obviously, that would be different. But to just say 'vote Libertarian' without even knowing the candidate makes no sense to me.
