If McCain drops, can't Romney, etc., just come back?

I'd love to see Ron Paul become the nominee if McCain gets caught "with a dead girl or a live boy", but who says the other guys who've dropped out can't just come back?

They haven't somehow disqualified themselves, have they?

Depends on Republican Party rules. I suppose anything could happen in the convention - someone could ride in on white horse to "save the Party" but it wouldn't be the republican party I want to see (the party of Taft, etc).

Hasn't been my experience that rank and file Republicans hate Ron Paul at all. They've just been told he can't win.

Look for Romney to return

In fact, that is exactly what I anticipate. Everyone but the family dog knows that McCain can't win against Hillary (or Obama) in November 2008. McCain is a phony Republican candidate created by the main street media and pumped, pumped, pumped up precisely because he is the weakest of all the Republican candidates.
The liberal main street media want a Democrat win in November. Establishment Republicans know this, so I would look for the Party to give us a Romney/Huck ticket in November.

With Huck out, I think Ron Paul supporters should use this window of opportunity to drive home the fact that "McCain can't win" In fact, this should be Ron Paul's new campaign slogan for the coming months........ "He can't win" !

The only hope Ron Paul has to get the nomination at this point is if there is a brokered GOP convention. Romney and Huck would work toward this end, so there is some hope. However, it is up to Ron Paul supporters to convince delegates that Romney and Huck can't win either..ONLY Ron Paul can, and if given the chance, will defeat Hillary (or Obama) in November 2008

Hang this albatross around McCain's neck "He can't win" !:D

Honestly, I think Ron Paul would have just a hard of a time defeating Hillary or Obama than McCain would. Think of the name recognition that Hillary and Barack have. Lots of people still don't know who Ron Paul is, and that would hurt him in a general election versus Hillary or Obama.

I agree. It might be better for Paul if McCain loses the Election (by a landslide, I predict). Then just perhaps the Republican party will return to its conservative liberty defending roots, even if only for electoral success.

What concerns me is if McCain loses the Election in a landslide the MSM will spend the next 4 years promoting propaganda to say it is because McCain is not liberal or Socialist enough.

There really needs to be a news channel that provides an opposing view to current hard core neocon, Liberal - Communist- Socialist supporting MSM we have now. We need people with this message that have money to buy a existing news channel or an existing cable channel with significant penetration and convert it to a news channel.

Keep in mind that Romney said he was "suspending" his campaign. That means, in essence, that he could resume his campaign at any time. I noticed this interesting choice of words when he made his speech . . .

MSM sure did a number on us. Somehow, we have to break the jewish monopoly on media.

Even Harvard University knows they control America:

That sure is one stupid way of promoting this campaign.

I go out of my way to tell people it's about freedom, and people like you have to bring up Jews (and probably blacks and gays, if I could hazard a guess.)

What would your plan be for correcting this "imbalance"?

Stats are stats, but this is only of academic interest to me.

Why not just sell the idea of freedom and let the chips fall where they may?

Racism

You make it very hard to defend against the argument that Ron Paul supporters are racist...

Conversely,
the argument that the MSM is racist might be just as difficult to defend against.

Aside from token black faces and the always tormented muslims,
the message from MSM is primarily directed at the white middle class.
Only the advertising insiders know just how deep that runs, though.
