While campaigning for her mother recently, Chelsea Clinton admitted that the left is planning to use the Supreme Court to enact greater gun control if a Democrat wins the presidency this fall.

The Washington Free Beacon reported:

Chelsea Clinton: Gun Control Opportunity on Supreme Court With Scalia Gone

Chelsea Clinton said Thursday at an event in Maryland that there is now an opportunity for gun control legislation to pass the Supreme Court since Justice Antonin Scalia passed away.

“It matters to me that my mom also recognizes the role the Supreme Court has when it comes to gun control. With Justice Scalia on the bench, one of the few areas where the Court actually had an inconsistent record relates to gun control,” Clinton said. “Sometimes the Court upheld local and state gun control measures as being compliant with the Second Amendment and sometimes the Court struck them down.”

Clinton then touted her mother’s record on gun control issues and knowledge that the Supreme Court has an effect on whether many gun control laws stand.

Also keep in mind that if Hillary wins in November, Chelsea is the next US Senator from NY. As has been discussed several times before, Hillary will appoint incumbent Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand to something in her administration, then have her faithful lieutenant Gov. Coumo appoint Chelsea as her replacement. And so the Clinton dynasty will trundle on...

I'm not saying that tighter regulations aren't a possibility, just that I'm not buying the doom and gloom I always hear about how guns are going to get banned/confiscated. I don't foresee the gun lobby or gun owners in America letting that happen without a fight, and that's something you can believe any candidate that wants to a seat in Washington will try to avoid. Even Bernie Sanders knows you can't just do something like that. If one of the original purposes was to stop tyrannical government, then what better time to put them to use, no? ;]

This is just partisan bait, they could make it harder to get guns, but I don't think they will ever fully prohibit them in the same way that they can't prohibit rocks. At a certain point we start prohibiting stupid things like rubbing alcohol and nail polish remover and sudafed but they never stop bad people from doing terrible things with them. I bet every time an article like this gets posted the gun store sells 5 guns. This is just a marketing trick, act now or else the offer may expire..

A solid argument needs to be made for improving happiness/satisfaction, people are not going out and shooting people, or committing suicide because they are happy. People are absolutely crazy, every one of them, and why not- that's what works in this world, in a world of madness only the mad are sane. People are out there doing jobs that they don't want to do because that's what makes them money. Tesla was one of the smartest people in our recent times and he was digging ditches at one point.
