I have $53k in a SEP IRA that I want to rollover into some sort of agriculture investment. I'm already invested(ing) pretty heavily in PMs. So for me: Agriculture > PM mining investments. Diversification and what not.

Anyone have any good agriculture ETFs/stocks ideas?

I'm going to use this thread to put my ideas and thoughts into writing in order to help me make the best decision I can. All comments/thoughts appreciated.

Ok so first I need to decide what type of investment I want.

As far as I know the possible types are:

1. Buying the commodities themselves. (wheat, soybeans, etc.)
2. ETFs that deal with a select few commodities (DBA, RJA, GRU)
3. ETFs that track ag stocks (MOO, CUT)
4. Actual stock in ag companies (POT, SYT, DE)

Apparently 1-3 all deal in futures and I'm not sure I trust futures. So maybe I split up my investment into 3-4 different ag companies equally?

Since diversification from PMs is my main goal with this investment it may be wise to diversify even further. Any thoughts about crude oil? What about solar energy?
