I live fairly close to the NV border. So I'm grabbing as many people as I can rally and going down to canvas the Jackpot area this coming Sat. These are very small precincts (population-wise) with like 50 registered Republicans apiece. So it shouldn't be that hard to have a pretty big impact.

Thanks for doing this. There is a big push in Utah to do likewise, since we are a winner-take-all state that inevitable with go to Romney because of Mormon (and 2002 Olympics) ties.

This is a closed caucus, please make sure you are only spending time canvassing registered Republicans. There is no value in canvassing independents or Democrats, or in registering new voters.

We really need to make sure every single Republican is

1) Aware of Ron Paul
2) Aware of his issues platform
3) Aware that he is the best candidate for a state like Nevada.

yep. deadline is passed to register GOP. that's what makes this so easy. in any given precinct there are not that many GOP-registered voters.

If you guys can get down to Elko I'm sure they can use your help. There are A LOT of Mormons in Elko so Romney is a big factor there.

Elko County is so Republican that Ross Perot doubled Bill Clinton BOTH times he ran (92 & 96). I think Bush got 76% against Kerry in Elko County.

While canvassing please remember we need DELEGATES!!! Make sure the people you find run for delegate, or at least vote for another Ron Paul supporter as delegate.

As was pointed out in a few other threads, don't ignore the Mormons. They could be our best source for votes as surprising as it might seem.

I'm from southeast Idaho and thought about doing this Friday. Are there precincts yet to be canvassed in Jackpot (or elsewhere)? How best can I help in NV?

Make sure they think he's got the best shot of winning in Nevada of any candidate :)

is there anything anyone needs help with Dont live close enough to canvass but what about phone calls or anything

Go Idaho! Canvassing is easy and quick, especially if you only target registered Republicans. Win us Nevada guys! Don't they vote Saturday? You might want to go down there sooner if possible.

Can't make it until Friday unfortunately. Gotta work.

What I need to know is, which parts of Jackpot have/have not been canvassed? Who/where are the republicans? I've contacted the Elko meetup group but have not heard back from them as of yet.

+1

Door to door better than sign waving/rally/passing out literature at street corners-
Tell about his vote against yucca montain (only one of 3 members of congress to vote againt it), no taxes on tips, second amendment rights, illegal immigration

Great Job

Yes absolutely. I am Mormon. Appeal to them on principle, tell that that you've heard Mormons believe the Constituiton is inspired.

They may be following Romney because of their common religion, but if they were to be voting based on LDS belief and on principles, they would be voting for Ron Paul.
