I was a Ron Paul supporter starting in 2000. I knew who he was back in 1990 when reading the World Almanac 1988 Presidential Election Results but didn't know what he stood for as I was only 10 years old at the time.
TPTB here finally upgraded my account to allow me to post.
I am a card-carrying Libertarian for 30+ years and I served on my state LP Board for 4 years.
I try to stay out of Republican Party affairs.
I am one of the leading Ron Paul backers over at the Gold is Money forums, trying to secure the votes of the Hard Money Crowd. IMHO It's going very well. Check it out.
I've been a supporter since 2007. Honestly I'm reluctant to sign up for things like forums, although I visit here all the time without signing in. I don't have a Facebook, twitter or any other type of social media account. There is a world out there beyond the internet believe it or not : ).
I wrote a hand written letter to Dr. Paul in 2005 making a desperate plea begging him to run for President again. I have often entertained the idea that it was that letter that made him run. Probably not, but I can dream. :-/
Well, I would argue that we're having as much success as we are now because some of us grizzled heads have kept track of how far down the garden path we've gone, have developed some pretty damned good arguments about why Ron Paul is right, and are here spoon feeding you youngsters with all this happy stuff.
That said, yes. You're right. This is the year, and the time has come to make it work!
I found Ron Paul sometime around 2002/2003. I was a big time Republican and was so excited that Bush had both chambers of Congress and could FINALLY reduce government. We all know how THAT went...
That's how I found Ron Paul. I wanted to find someone who actually STOOD for Republican principles that the class of '94 had rode into success!
I voted for Badnarik in 2004 and Barr in 2008.
I found this forum after or during the Nov 5 Moneybomb. I'll never forget the feeling "Holy crap! I'm not ALONE!!!"
