I was 5 feet away from Rahm Emanuel yesterday!

Hey, I'm in Chicago too. Where you at?

Northern suburbs, right by Buffalo Grove High School...

I highly recommend confronting the opposition, as long as you can do it calmly and rationally. :)
...
That said, I don't think I would have gone up to Rahm. He could have you killed. ;)

I probably would have been fairly respectful and politely tell him how I feel. Mossad was probably watching his back... :)

Zadrock - what part of Maryland do you live in?

i found a place that's even more socialist than Maryland - I live in London now!

Also, we've met at C4L gatherings. I suppose it would help if I had my picture on my profile like you do... :)

You should've made fun of his finger... if he's anything like Obama, his ego would've taken a hearty blow :)

Did you guys get your shots? Better see a doctor in any case because whatever it is he has is very contagious.

.
Nevertheless, I went up to him ...

Good on you for that.

I braced for the response. To my surprise, he's the one who stuttered, who evaded, who got defensive.
See? They are nothing but flesh and blood as well as the rest. Nothing to be intimidated by. Not bending to intimidation becomes a matter of will. Simply will it to be so, act with unbending intent and so it shall be. I've walked into boardrooms, whipped out my balls, set them on the conference table and waited to see what happened. When nothing happened, it was tacitly agreed I had the biggest and was therefore piloting the ship. Worked every time. Most of this sort of thing is just a game. Just look at what an insecure little boy Nixon was, and he was the president, murdering people by the millions in SE Asia. When you approach these interactions as a game, albeit a rather serious one, the worst you will ever do in terms of who is more commanding is a push. You cannot lose in that respect unless you cede your command presence. Never do that. You did really well with your politician. You learned from it and so again I say good on you. Take no shit from these people because they have nothing over you. And I mean NOTHING.

He didn't disagree with my inflammatory terminology. Instead of justifying his vote, he tried to turn the tables and ask, "What would you have done in my place?"
IOW you had him on the ropes. Good on you yet again. :)

I doubt Cummings remembers this encounter
You would NOT want to put money on that bet. I'd bet he most assuredly does remember it and may himself have learned something from it. Do not underestimate the significance of your right action.

, but I did learn something very important. As I approached him, I admit that I was a little bit fearful. As I left, I realized he was the one fearful of me. With the truth on our side, we never have to be afraid.

Good on you a fourth time. :) :) :) :)

That said, I don't think I would have gone up to Rahm. He could have you killed. ;)

Care should be exercised, but always let it be known to you that ANYONE can be killed. Nobody on the planet is immune. Not even Rahm.

He filed part time resident 2009 tax returns and rented out his Chicago home while he lived in DC. As far as I'm concerned, he's not eligible.

Yet the media and government are all salivating so hard for that sweet Uncle Sugar establishment connection that it doesn't matter. There is not an ounce of criticism from the local press or talk radio. In fact, after the recent hearings the local talk radio station made fun of the questioners all day long. It was spun as a carnival-like event with circus freaks turning tricks. A few days ago I was driving around the city Xmas shopping and it's all they talked about.

I recently noticed that lose is quite commonly misspelled with two "o" like loose. It may be the most misspelled word out there, but I'm not sure why. :)
