Are you all ignorant of the fact that HE WAS NOT IN CONGRESS BETWEEN 1987 and 1997??? He was privately practicing as a DOCTOR at the time. The newsletter ran amok and he didn't find out until later.

The truth is that he didn't write those things and he didn't edit or see those publications. He has apologized and taken personal responsibility because it was published under his name. He considers MLK a hero, has given speeches stating such. He supports gay marrage and supports equal rights for all individuals.

If you need links and proof, I am sorry I don not have to time for someone that is not willing to do their own research as well. And I am skeptical, even if given the truth, you won't believe it.

If you so easily turn against his message of liberty and freedom, then I don't believe you really supported him at all.

So, it's not enough for me to abandon the good doctor, but it's enough to temper my support for him on the grounds that his judgment leaves something to be desired.

Unfortunately, I think this will kill his presidential candidacy, as a Republican or otherwise.

I'm a new supporter, since about september 07. Learned about this matter a few months ago. Took me less than a day to discover the truth and realize ron paul would never knowly say those things or let them be said under his name. It *may* only kill the chance if we continue to keep it in the spotlight. As has been said, this has come and gone throughout his post-hiatus congressional runs and is completely false and unfounded.

And the thought that he's somehow "too trusting" makes no sense. Forgetting that he was practicing medicine at the time and not in politics (read: thought his political career time was finished... not yet planning to go back into politics at the time), why should we even expect him to monitor such things so closely??

I've associated with bad people in my life. I've associated with good people who have become bad people in my life. Everyone has had such associations, but I'm not wasting my time keeping up with them after the fact, and neither should everyone else... or Dr. Paul.
