I think we all know this bail out is going to happen

The people truly getting screwed in this deal are those who didn't run up huge amounts of personal debt, managed their finances responsibly, and are now being penalized for it. What bills should they send to Congress?

Exactly! Play by the rules and YOU LOSE! I was ranting about this very thing last night.

I seriously doubt there are all that many people who have no debt at all, including no mortgage. Most of us at least have a mortgage. Unless you're talking about the very young, who still live with their parents, and the very old who live with their children. It's the sandwich generation that is getting hit the hardest on this deal. I'm one of them. I'm a grandmother, with one child still left at home (17 yrs old) and an 85 yr old mother in law who lives with us.

I'm 39 with no debt. Live in an area where I can't afford to buy a home. Let me tell you, I feel really great as a renter being forced to help bail out homeowners. Yeah, guess I was just a fool for trying to live within my means. Should have run up a bunch of unpayable debt when I had the chance, like everyone else.

Well I'm 48 with no debt but a mortgage. Fixed rate, always pay on time, and I'm in the same boat as you.

I'll start putting mine together tonight

Why not do both, or only one? For those who can't afford to take a day off, they could still send their CC bills to congress. I would laugh my a$$ off if the house and senate got inundated with thousands upon thousands of bills from the American people, with big wording on the front that read, 'Bail ME out!' :D

Additionally, I think a great idea would be for everyone to just not pay ANY of your bills for one month. I mean, the gov expects the money to come from us so lets not give it to them. I am beyond pissed.

I like it. I have to get my husband on board with it, but that shouldn't be a problem. Americans deciding to hold on to their money for one month. Ha! That would probably really screw everything up!

The more it is delayed because of politics the more tax payers would have to pay.

No, you are WRONG. We're going to have a crash either way. These are our choices:

1. Have a relatively short-lived recession/depression for 1-2 years, by allowing the market to flush the malinvestment out of the system.

or...

2. Do the bailout, which will require a HUGE influx of liquidity into the system (aka rapidly increasing the money supply), and have a DEPRESSION that will last 10 years or more, in addition to completely destroying our currency and the last vestige of our liberty and national sovereignty.

You choose. I choose option 1.

I agree people need a choice. Do one or the other or both.

It's not a big deal for me to take a vacation day to participate in a strike - but people need to be willing to gather together and be seen on the day of a strike.

Sending bills to congress should be easy enough for Anybody to do. Don't just stop at CC or mortgage statements - send them everything! Heck, people can even black out things like account numbers or whatever they want to keep private - just photocopy and send congress an avalance of paper!

We really have to respond to them passing this bailout. It's wrong and we know it but they're going to do it anyway.

Wall Street sure seems to think it will happen. It would be a bloody day indeed on the market if we woke up Monday morning to the announcement that no bailout will take place.

Are we gonna take this bail-out lying down? It's gonna pass, and we need to retaliate (civil disobedience).

whats the plan debbie? it needs to be something big...i dont think enough people are awake

I'm going to try to get Revolution Management Foundation (RMF), the grassroots organization that put the RevolutionMarch together, I'm going to try to get them behind this. If I can, then we'll have a website for people to go to for information like we did with the march. Plus, two of our members are involved with RevolutionBroadcasting. Also, I've been in touch with the guy who wrote the article for the San Fransisco Chronicle that came up with this idea, he can get us some publicity too.

Know where the term saboteur comes from? French peasants used to wear wooden shoes called sabots, and they would jam their shoes into delicate machinery in factories to disable it in protest.

Just saying...

Who says Star Trek isn't educational? :p

That damn bill passed and now we are in even more trouble now then before they passed it. This bill isn't going to help any banks in the US only foreign banks in china, japan, etc. We've been sold out and I'm so mad right now. There needs to be a uprising of people to march right into washington and throw out every damn member to our government.
