This has really gotten no play in the press at all, because they know it would be huge. We need to get this out as well in my opinion. To me that is a stroke of genius that Dr. Paul mentioned that.

they were just talkin on fox news that if weed was legal people would be getting high b4 and during work...just laughed at my parents were calling the reporter and idiot

I think not We all still dont know the secret weapon :/
If its a weapon of talking or a weapon to win the states.

I'm disappointed this message is getting suppressed by the media. I hope RP is going to hit the talk show circuits this week.

Saw that, too.

Best part was when that ignorant butthead screamed SOME FREEDOMS ARE GOOD AND SOME FREEDOMS ARE BAD!

lol...The other guy's response was priceless: "Well, there you go right there." and shaking his head.

Being from B.C. in Canada, I smoked alot of weed when I was in my teens and early 20s. Now days I have a wife and 2 kids, and I make $150,000.00 a year at a great job. ( no i dont seel weed now ) and I dont do any drugs anymore at all. It still amazes me that there are many people in the U.S.A in jail for doing what I did, their lives are ruined. Whats even more amazing is the fact that alot of Americans still beleive that if you smoke weed you are on a path to disaster. The reality is, Americans are on a path to disaster from day 1 with the government being the way it is. Weed will just make it less painful, and way less stressful.

You'd think they'd make weed legal. After all it just makes people more passive. They wouldn't have as many people protesting their BS

yes and no. it is wonderful to bring that up, but it is not genius/unique. it is a long maintained libertarian policy.

it's common knowledge that a libertarian president wants this. you are right, it would be big. the reason you never hear anything about it is that it's another policy they can't defend on any grounds, and to even bring it up is to show the stupidity/duplicity of the policy. much like the docs "im the only real conservative up here" line - that will not get air on tv.

and this is the very reason the doc needs to hit these issues hard - relentlessly hard.

Amnesty and Pardon for all users convicted of non-violent drug charges on Martin Luther King's day with the statistic that most of the jailed convictions are minorities and they're racially profiling WOULD make news.

There would be shock and awe, and they'd spend a week sorting it out.

Edit: Make sure people understand the connection between policing the world, and when you bring those troops home and start acting like you're trooping our country - police state - even picture of it on cover of a popular magazine which we can use.

Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and Al Gore have all admitted to smoking marijuana, I wonder how much would it have helped their careers if they had gone to jail for it.

In another thread it was mentioned that Rush Limbaugh once said if he were the governor of Florida he would immediately pardon all non-violent drug offenders. If this is true and someone can find a copy of the audio or a transcript....

Do you really think the general public is warm to the idea of releasing drug users of any kind?

Don't let yourself be blinded.

No-one could careless, unless it's in their interest. ..which it isn't for the vast voting majority.

Do you realize how many families have been affected by this issue in this country? Its not rhetoric, its fast becoming a police state.

Edit: Never mind, you're from the UK, you don't realize.

Are you perhaps Donna Reed?

Maybe that would make a nice poll for the board. How many of us have been affected? How many of us have a family member in jail because of it?

Legalizing drugs would make them less "cool" to use for young people. Also, it would destroy gangs in America since most of their profits come from selling drugs.

actual effects vs. 80 years of propaganda

NO, it opens people's minds to new ideas and new ways of thinking about the world. That fact makes it dangerous to the establishment. The stereotypes that it makes you stupid / passive / forgetful / careless / burned out / etc etc are the results of an eighty-year propaganda effort begun in the 1930's.

It's not just gangs and criminals that make money off of illegal drugs.

It's horrible to put people in prison for small amounts of pot etc... I think the policy is actually making criminals out of people who would have never been a criminal if they weren't forced to survive in prison.
