I remember finding a doctor that was willing to give his life to heal this crippled nation and find the cure to its wounds. I just wished more Americans had really gotten off their duffs, surfed the Net and found what type of a candidate his doctor was. I mean, they had nothing to lose. :(

I remember writing a letter to Ronald Reagan when I was a little girl, to tell him about how I was having nightmares that the Russians would drop a bomb on my house like I kept hearing on the news.

I remember the day I mailed it, and I remember the day I got a letter in the mail from his Personal Secretary. I remember thinking that the letter was hard to understand and didn't make any sense. All I wanted was for my president to tell me that I would be OK and for him to promise that a bomb wouldn't hit my house.

Now I get a president who promises all the time that bombs won't land on my house, but I'm surrounded by adults who refuse to read the letter that is hard to understand and doesn't make sense if you're just a little kid. I had it all wrong. I thought grown-ups were smarter than kids. Maybe they used to be.

And I totally remember pong :)

I remember in the late 70's coming home from school cry to my
Mom that we were going to run out of coal and oil and that we'd
all be freezing in the dark!

Maybe, subconsciously, that's why I ended up writing a book about
'247 Advanced Gas Saving Tips'?

Great thread.

I remember meeting Gubernatorial Candidate George W. Bush as a teenager and thinking, "This guy is the best the Republicans have to offer?"
