I now understand why the Vietnamese...

Ron Paul would be ashamed of you guys. He is still a person, and an admirable one at that as well for being a veteran. Sure he's a sleaze ball and warmonger and theres no way in hell I'd vote for him, but I'd never say anything like "I wish the Vietnamese tortured him more", How offensive can you get???? IF this is really the way you Ron Paul people are to others, I'm out of here and finding another way to fight for liberty that has nothing to do with insulting people.

I'm Viet and my parents fled the country to come here during the war. That said, I respect that he served America and all that. But, I do not want him to be my president. I respect plenty people but not everyone can be my leader.

I respect that he served but why respect him for being tortured? He was tortured against his will and collaborated with the enemy. I don't believe that's worthy of respect.

wow every single post in this thread is filled with hate for McCain despite that he risked his life as a veteran and was tortured, you can't even respect that.

Yeah, and Germany elected Hitler because they respected his service during WWI.

I seriously hope you get banned for that comment. How dare you even suggest anyone deserves torture. Do you have any idea what what those Vietnamese did to our POW's you ignorant, self righteous moron.

I guess you have ignored the trillions of Vietnam vets that have spoken out against McCain. He is not a war hero. He is just a moron that contributed in a unjust war that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people (voted for Iraq) and wants to start another with Iran.

I read up some on McCain because I liked him during the last go-round and there's a lot of sketchy stuff around his being a POW. He also lobbied heavily to keep information from families of fellow POW's on their location, what happened, etc.

Is it considered a swiftboating if it's true? I really think people should know the truth that he's been working for so long to keep out of the public eye.

This just pisses me off. Not the indignant nature of the most Paul supporters I hear. I already got pissed off about that and realize that the message and its benefit cannot and should not be tarnished by a bunch of fruits chasing Hannity down the road and taking to similar sophmoric activities. Lets also not go over the scores of supposed supporters who are throwing in the towel already.

What really pisses me off is that somehow I am supposed to see McCain as total teflon to certain analysis of his character and cannot make or find humor in such a tasteless statement as this thread started with.

One, I thought it was funny while also being a bit off color. Maybe someday I will be submitted to torture and re-analyze the humor to which I found in that statement.

What needs to be discussed is anything and everything about McCain's career in the military if he is going to ride on that as a portion of his whole package that he would bring to the White House. Nothing is off limits. ANd that goes for Hillary's characteristics that while being perceived as patently female, make a very pertinent topic for running this country.

I am most reverent for the service that McCain has given this country, whether some want to question the level of excellence he brought to it. What I will not do is listen to a man that will switch a position as often as polls require, will wear a letter jacket with the R for Republican emblazened on it and try to ferret away all of the liberal movements and gyrations he's made in the past.

In my math, one part war hero added to a patent dishonesty and playing the wolf in sheeps clothing makes 100% of him a target.
