I need some very serious advice right now

Find some others simpathetic to Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin and contact the guy together.

How about email bombing Comcast?

I have basically decided that the Dems fill up the coffers with our tax dollars and the Republicans drain it away for wars. and those who make munitions.

Completely for real. This is my welfare we're talking about and I would never fuck around about that.

If your RPF profile isn't connectable to your real identity, we could organize an email bomb from here.

put Ron Paul stickers around the workplace. seriously, out of camera view though you know what i mean ;D

Your job is worth more than making a minor political gesture.

You've got a decent job that puts food on your table and pays for your internet connection; keep it.

An anonymous forwarding of the email to Alex Jones wouldn't do any harm. Somebody blog this even, and then the post should be edited to remove the email.

I personally work around about 15 other good people who keep the Cable and Video On Demand working in South Jersey.

It wouldn't do much. This email came from the top.
Far away from my position.

First thing is check your employee handbook. Many large corporations have very strict rules about the use of corporate email for political purposes.
Second, check the Penn. laws regarding employment practices [sorry I am not sure of the exact sttute, in NY it is in the Human Rights Law which is part of the Executive Law].
Assuming that the corporation allows for such solicitations, and further assuming that state law allows it as well, I am somewhat confused about why the company wants to be involved in private fundraising unless it is merely to be able to ensure compliance with election law reporting.
The final question you have to ask yourself is how secure you feel at your job. If you belive you are safe then send an email to the original sender asking if Comcast is also assisting in raising funds for third party candidates. Don't be suprised if that email then gets vetted by either HR or corporate legal before a response comes to you.

Thanks Yongrel. That's my thought. But would it do any harm to ask the man who sent it to allow me express my views to the rest of the company.

I'd love to ask him if he'd mind if I mentioned Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin, Ralph Nader, and Cynthia McKinney in an email.

It would be telling.

Don't even think of e-mailing the whole company. You'll be gone before you can blink. Most companies have e-mail policies specifically dealing with such situations.

In this economy, if you want to keep your job at all, I do not recommend doing *anything*. Vent here, not over the drinking fountain or with other employees.

Any attempt to go directly to the VP will be perceived by your boss as going over his/her head and the VP could actually hold your boss accountable for your actions-

Are they behaving appropriately? No. Do most companies do the equivalent in some area (e.g., charity donations). Yes.

If you don't like it, can you leave? Yes.

Do you want to leave? If not, then move along.

You've just gotten your first lesson in how people get corrupted:(

Look at Lew Rockwell's valid take on such corruption:

I have kept my politics out of my workplace forever. Where I work is where I make my money, and that is it. I love my coworkers, but have been reluctant to pass my views on to them. In my mind, before the past few days, our business and our politics just shouldn't mix.

I work for Comcast.

When I got back to Philly today, I checked my work email and found the following:

I want, and I need, to tell my fellow coworkers that there are other choices, but I don't want to become a bad seed and lose my job in the process.

I really need to know what to do right now. I don't know how to email the entire company, which I'm sure received the above email.

I'd been thinking of emailing "Mr VP" who sent the email (names have been changed), to allow me to address my fellow Comcasters, and let them know about the other parties that may be on their ballot.

I really don't know what to do. I have left politics out of my workplace, but my bosses are bringing politics into my workplace, and it's politics I don't agree with. I really need to know how to proceed with this. I'm really pissed about them forcing me to accept their two phony candidates, yet I want to excel in the company.

How would you procede. They started with the politics, not me.

You've got a decent job that ...pays for your internet connection; keep it.

The important things in life:D

With Comcast, though, just don't use too much bandwidth:rolleyes:

I'm waiting to see if blowback materializes, considering cell phone competition is going to flat rates vs. usage.
