I just got done with school for the semester, and have nearly 3 weeks off. I will spend most of that time spreading the word of Ron Paul to anyone I see, but I do work. Well, I work nighwatch at a dorm (I check IDs as they enter the building), and I would say only 10% of the residents stay in the dorms for Christmas break, which leaves me staring at a wall for 6 hours.

So, what are some good books I can read to get some more background information on how the country has come to be in shambles and how Ron Paul makes so much sense? Thanks!

Blowback Chalmers Johnson

Dying to Win Robert Pape

Foreign Policy of Freedom - Ron Paul

Imperial Hubris, Through Our Enemies Eyes. Mike Schuerer (sp?)

The Libertarian Reader, David Boaz

Globalization and its discontents Joesph Stilglitz

The End of America: A Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot by Naomi Wolf

House of War "James Carrol"

These are all great. Then again there is always Rand.

The Road to Serfdom by F. A. Hayek
A Foreign Policy of Freedom by Ron Paul (duh)
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
I Am America and So Can You by Stephen Colbert (just for fun)
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (to enrich you as a person)
The End of America: A Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot by Naomi Wolf

Glad you posted this, I'm always looking for good books to read.

One book that I would like to read now is G. Edward Griffin's book (The Creature from Jekyll Island)... if anyone has read it and has something to say about it, please do.

Easy answer. Go to Mises.org and browse their store. There is a bunch of great stuff there.

If you want to understand neoconservatism read

Natan Sharansky's The Case for Democracy The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror

It is a must read for every American. Ultimately, I disagree with how neoconservatives have implemented his ideas but the ideas are worth reading. Natan Sharansky is an important person who represents the best of neoconservatism.

I am a Libertarian, by the way. I do not endorse his views, but I respect them.

Peoples History of the United States-Howard Zinn(if you haven't read this, it should be near the top of your list)
Nemesis-Chalmers Johnson(most recent book in the American trilogy)
Shock Doctrine-Naomi Klein
Confessions of an Economic Hitman-Perkins
Homage to Catatonia-Orwell
