I just talked with National

Get this thread back on topic. Why haven't we heard from Dr. Paul. Every other candidate has spoken. Why hasn't Dr. Paul?

Where is the statement from Ron Paul on the Daily Dose?

How dare they not immediately put Ron himself on the phone? I heard McCain personally called every precinct leader last night to give an update on the campaign.

Seriously, man, get over yourself. There is a pretty good statement on the daily dose on the official site if you need assurance that bad.

There isn't one.

Why do you folks jump to the defense of this inept campaign staff?

I've been shouting this since IOWA!!!!!

We need reassurance and we get nothing.

More headquarter apologists---just what we need.

Come on man! The campaign failed the movement? You honestly think a roomful of people in Virginia can run up against the military industrial complex, medical and media complex and come out victorious?? As admitted by Ron many times, the grassroots are the reason he is so popular. If you are blaming this on the campaign then you have no idea of what we're dealing with, or you are deluded as to what role the campaign is playing.

Try to put in in perspective as to the realities and costs of running a national Presidential campaign:

Remember the campaign only had $500k when the others were spending millions in early states. Look at the FEC numbers and see for yourself. We got a late start... a late start in building infrastructure, buying ad time, and starting a direct mail campaign. Not to mention millions in FREE media that went to the other candidates every day. We would have needed 100 million in MAY to compete with that.

It is easy to blame all the "defeat" on the campaign, when in reality there were many other factors in play from early on.

Just look at things from that point of view.

Cause it's been working great thus far. Don't break what needs fixin' I always say.

why hasn't dr paul spoken. remember all the other campaigns are run like military operations with embedded reporters and staged events to celebrate victory or spin defeat. dr paul doesn't play that game. but i would like to see at least a press release.

I identified myself as a precinct leader not to receive special treatment but to clarify that I was not a person from the press looking for a statement but rather an interested and committed person from the campaign. I am a precinct leader in Indiana. Our primary isn't until May -- so people here are asking why we haven't heard from Ron Paul - should we continue campaigning or not?

A personal statement by the candidate is pretty basic stuff - it's really 101 level politics.

You want your message out there and a setting like super tuesday night was a good moment to get free national publicity.

Even more important, a candidate must address his core support base no matter how disappointed he may be - he still can say thanks, job well done, thanks to you we had almost a half a million people vote for a return to the constitution, to sound money, to end nation-building and bring our troops home, etc etc.

An appeal by 'the daily dose' for more money and precinct leaders the day after many are weary and disappointed is a poor campaign strategy.

Ron Paul needed to appear personally at a campaign rally somewhere last night - his encouraging speech on youtube today.

His absence and silence can only weaken the movement and call into question whether or not he is going to continue.

There never was a plan. National is INCOMPETANT. You cannot win a presidential nomination with grassroots only.

National has a reputation for treating people rudely, including journalists. I might hate the MSM, but you do NOT treat the reporters that DO show up, like shit. That has happened.

I live in Michigan. Ron Paul could have won this state, but there was ZERO campaign, here. NOTHING. Grassroots, yes, but no ads, no personal appearances. The other candidates were all over, visiting factories, car shows, business, etc. As a result, they got a ton of press. This state has the worst economy in the nation, and the message the people here got was that Ron Paul was a non presense.

This is something I just didn't understand either. Why didn't he campaign harder? I don't have the hard numbers, but it seems like he's made the fewest campaign appearances of any of the serious candidates. Money in the bank is great, but you have to be out pressing the flesh, it generates publicity and is great for supporter morale. They expect us to go all-out, full tilt while they half-ass. Sad.

Truth needs no encouragement.
I am in this to promote the message of liberty and the sovereignty of the individual.
I will carry on, I urge you all to do the same.

Maybe the whole idea was to burn out the fire of the last real patriots, spinning their wheels working to secure some kind of legitimacy in a system that has long ago ceased to function.

I don't know how demoralized I feel, bu it's about as a bad as I have ever felt knowing we didn't even get an attaboy from the man himself. I spent more time, money, effot- I went out nights in the freezing cold with my children putting up signs for God's sake, and we have to beg for a paragraph of thanks?

You know what has to be done... Why do we need constant encouragement, keep spreading the word... Freedom is popular!!!

I don't see anyone asking for "constant encouragement", a little common courtesy would do the trick.

And we're not stupid either, we know what we're up against and I don't even mind losing as long as the people I'm fighting for act in an equally honorable fashion.

The GOP is so arrogant that they will only be interested in getting us back when Hilldog gets elected. I will not be voting for them and might even vote Democrat *chokes back vomit* just so that they learn their lesson. If I am going to get a big government Democrat either way, I'd rather get one that is going to end the war and spend my tax money on me.

The Dems have NO INTENTION of ending the war. They have voted for it, funded it, they are CFR just like the Repubs. It's one big elites club.

I agree with you.

It's the stuff you'd think was already in place. A pep talk to the troops.

You know these guys are fond of quoting Thomas Paine, but fail to realize the troops were demoralized in Valley FOrge. They weren't all proud of their accomplishments. But Washington was there and the reading aloud of Paine's "The American Crisis" to the troops for inspiration was mandatory.

Today, Ron Paul is conspicuously absent. Bad move by the campaign staff. They have proven time and again to be rank amateurs.

I don't need an update from RP to feel encouraged. The fact that many thousands of people voted for him is encouragement to me. The fact that 60% of the people who know who he is voted for him is encouragement to me.

Ron Paul has much work to do. I haven't for a second been under the illusion that Ron Paul is a one shot vacination against neo-socialism, civic complacency and the horrors that our future will see. The 'movement' as it's called is just a tiny ball in a vast expanse of snow. People can not help but wake up when they really hear the message and feel what honesty really means.

The best part is we don't even have to wake up every single person. Every person around me that I told about Ron Paul followed the story and debates, and ultimately voted for him. It's not that hard to turn people on to the message.

As far as feeling optimistic about this current race...I think that things will get worse before they get better. IF RP does not get the White House you can be sure that the future of freedom and the revolutions that follow will be spawed from what he started. This is the begining of the awakening and the full fledged revolution will sprout quite literally from the roots as they always do.

Other than that, this years race for the White House will be devided in far more than 2 pieces. Ron Paul will not quit as longs as he's got money and an ounce of life in him. With Nader possibly throwing his hat in, plus the obvious bickering and divisions within the common parties we are looking at a fray of a year no matter your angle.

Press Release from the campaign:
http://ronpaul2008.typepad.com/ron_paul_2008/2008/02/ron-paul-nation.html

"According to campaign projections, a minimum of 24 delegates were won in yesterday’s contests. When added to projected delegates coming from strong showings in Iowa (4), Nevada (8), Louisiana (3) and Maine (3), that brings the total delegate count to 42 delegates or more.

“Our goal has always been to walk into the national GOP convention with as many delegates as possible,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign manager Lew Moore. "

I see your point, but remember something for the cause please.

There are probably THOUSANDS of reports of voter disenfranchisement last night. He supposedly wasn't on some ballots in New York, people were turned away or forced to cast provisional ballots even though they were registered on time, old ladies in CO were caught ballot stuffing for Romney while purposely miscounting Ron Paul's ballots. The list goes ON AND ON AND ON, and this is just small little leaked reports I have heard about online...

Now try to imagine how much really happened that we haven't heard of just yet...and how much HQ has probably heard about these things. I agree, a word would help at the moment, but at the same time he probably wants to get this sorted out so he can give us a real morale boost and tell us that things are being taken care of.
