I hope the campaign makes Ron take a break on Thursday before the debate

Bachmann has no events from here out until after the debate, and will be cramming for the debate and aiming to be fresh. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box...ates-flock-to-iowa-ahead-of-debate-straw-poll However much Ron may or may not cram, he needs to be charged and not tired, and I saw he has at least one event at 9 a.m. Exercise, nap, get psyched.

According to Iowa GOP sources, many Republicans who plan to attend Saturday’s straw poll are still undecided on their candidate, which is highly unusual this close to the event. That makes Thursday’s debate even more important, as it is the largest event ahead of the straw poll itself.

Ron doesn't need to cram, he's been repeating the same thing for decades.

But he does need to take it easy from all of that traveling.

Ron does need to rest so he does not wear himself out. But seeing him so active in comparison with Bachmann makes me happy. If the straw poll is as close as they say, these events may be critical.

I think Ron needs to not relax. He needs to do his normal routine, he needs to do his morning exercise, meet and greet, do some interviews, own the debate, do some more interviews, win Ames, and then eat some of his wife's chocolate chip cookies.

Don't give away his weakness, someone might try to swap them for some oatmeal cookies instead!

While Bachman and others take time off Ron Paul understands that being President is a 24/7 job and you need to sometimes lose sleep, and skip out of taking time off. He also does not need to study as his answers are from the heart, mind, and soul not a canned script to fit the given situation.

I think Ron also gets energy from seeing so many supporters, especially young supporters. I hope it translates into a strong debate for him.

I'm not suggesting he skip anything planned, just that he try to take it easy and psych up. The others will.

He needs to write - or have written for him - a better opening statement than the one he had in NH.

And he needs to smile.

I actually had chest pains the last time I used the 5 hr energy stuff. I was pulling a 30 something hour day with only about 4 hours of sleep the previous night. And around -5 hours I took a bottle of that stuff and my heart started racing and hurt. It was not a pleasant experience.

If Ron's suit actually fits him on Thursday I will consider that a blessing.

Paul does so many damn media interviews on a daily basis many of which are hostile that he probably knows what he will say already in 95% of questions.

Ron Paul needs to be calm, cool, and collected, but he needs to be confident. He needs to give answers which are clear and as brief as possible, and present his message carefully. He needs to really outperform expectations at the debate.

Given how well his campaign has been doing, I have a very good inclination to believe that he will be ready to do these things at the debate.
