Can someone tie together the ideas of "1984" into an ad of what's happening now?

Someone give me a good pretend "Orwellian" tweet or "endorsement" that we can use on twitter and facebook?

The protagonist, Winston Smith, is a member of the Outer Party who works for the Ministry of Truth (Minitrue), which is responsible for propaganda and historical revisionism. His job is to re-write past newspaper articles so that the historical record is congruent with the current party ideology.[3] Because of the childhood trauma of the destruction of his family — the disappearances of his parents and sister — Winston Smith secretly hates the Party, and dreams of rebellion against Big Brother.

Many of its terms and concepts, such as Big Brother, doublethink, thoughtcrime, Newspeak, and memory hole, have become contemporary vernacular since its publication in 1949. Moreover, Nineteen Eighty-Four popularised the adjective Orwellian, which refers to official deception, secret surveillance, and manipulation of the past in service to a totalitarian or manipulative political agenda.[3]

Maybe create a face of Winston Smith that we can use?

The war on terror = war on Eurasia

I think in the next debate Ron should drop a URL to go to, and everyone on TV infront of there PC's will probably check it out right then. Say something like "Take a look at whatever.com if you want to see what I am all about" then you can have a Landing Page with a embedded video on his foreign policy or his prediction video, with a sign up now for more info and enter your email and name.

This can be huge.

Yes! With an embedded page that exposes Corporate Media lies and marginalization.

Tried to figure the most fitting quotes...

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
Ingsoc party slogan, Part 1, Chapter 1.

A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledgehammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one's will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
Describing the "Two Minutes Hate", Part 1, Chapter 1.

A nation of warriors and fanatics, marching forward in perfect unity, all thinking the same thoughts and shouting the same slogans, perpetually working, fighting, triumphing, persecuting - three hundred million people all with the same face.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
The ideal set up by the Party, according to Winston, Part 1, Chapter 7.

Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
Winston writing, Part 1, Chapter 7.

Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thoght? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
Syme to Winston, Part 1, Chapter 5.

We believe that there is some kind of conspiracy, some kind of secret organization working against the Party, and that you are involved in it. We want to join it and work for it. We are enemies of the Party. We disbelieve in the principles of INGSOC. We are thought-criminals. We are also adulterers. I tell you this because we want to put ourselves at your mercy. If you want us to incriminate ourselves in any other way, we are ready.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
Winston to O'Brien, when he and Julia try to join The Brotherhood, Part 2, Chapter 8.

Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
Winston reading from Emmanuel Goldstein's book, Part 2, Chapter 9.

The essential act of the Party is to use conscious deception while retaining the firmness of purpose that goes with complete honesty.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
From Emmanuel Goldstein's book, Part 2, Chapter 9.

We control matter because we control the mind. Reality is inside the skull.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
O'Brien to Winston, Part 3, Chapter 3.

Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
O'Brien to Winston, Part 3, Chapter 3.

If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- for ever.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
O'Brien to Winston, Part 3, Chapter 3.

The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a medium of expression for the world-view and mental habits proper to the devotees of Ingsoc, but to make all other modes of thought impossible.

"It does not matter whether the war is actually happening, and, since no decisive victory is possible, it does not matter whether the war is going badly. All that is needed is that a state of war should exist."

"War prisoners apart, the average citizen of Oceania never sets eyes on a citizen of either Eurasia or Eastasia, and he is forbidden the knowledge of foreign languages. If he were allowed contact with foreigners he would discover that they are creatures similar to himself and that most of what he has been told about them is lies."

We need to tackle electability and foreign policy, NOW. Based on those exit polls, very few Republicans think Paul can beat Obama (despite all polls showing Paul beating Obama among Independents). They also don't understand Paul's foreign policy, Paul needs to explain himself better through ads and debates...

It is all tied together!

If you can open people's eyes to the media's control, the blinders come off on everything else. They will question everything.

I've seen it happen with plenty of my friends! They still think his message delivery is bad, but they like his ideas. The ONLY thing holding them back is the media saying he can't win. Expose the media for what they are - and we have a tidal wave.

Read this:
"The essential act of the Party is to use conscious deception while retaining the firmness of purpose that goes with complete honesty. To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies, all this is indispensibly necessary."

and this:
"The social atmosphere is that of a besieged city.. And at the same time the consciousness of being at war, and therefore in danger, makes the handing-over of all power to a small caste seem the natural, unavoidable condition of survival."

sickening :(

I used the party quote under the video I linked.

"The essential act of the Party is to use conscious deception while retaining the firmness of purpose that goes with complete honesty. Ok, at 21 minutes into the movie, Winston Smith covers up the face of an "unperson" on the newspaper and changes the news to be a different guy.

Can we use something like that in an ad?

Have the newspaper read:

Ron Paul wins Iowa with his picture there. Have the narrator change it to Romney and put tape over Paul's face?

Good idea getting RP to drop a url during any interviews, he could just say, if people what to know what my policies are, go to youtube, but you can't be sure the powers that be would engineer it so that negative ads get shown on the first page. http://ronpaulflix.com
