Some of you will remember the dust-up RP supporters had with the local county Republican committee here in Orlando Fl. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/state/orl-paul1308apr13,0,3595380.story

Local talk radio host has taken an interest in the story. This will be a great opportunity to show that RP supporters are working for constructive change. This show has very high ratings here locally (carries the Rush Limbaugh show). I and the Republican Chairman will begin our debate at 4pm on Thursday April 17.

It will be streamed live via their website at

make sure you record it! youtube yourself if you want, that'd be neat to add to the audio

Excellent idea! Maybe put some pauses in their with text reprinting some outrageous statement the chairman made.

Just remain calm and remember both Lew and Bud are going to go the route of trying to make Ron Paul supporters like yourself, and Ron Paul, look like crazy people. Don't let them do that. Stick to the points of smaller government, lower taxes, spending cuts and less government intrusion. Don't get too technical because you're dealing with an audience that doesn't want to put a ton of thought into things. Keep it simple and remain calm.

It isn't hard to beat the current Bush and McCain Republicans. Bush has increased defense and non-defense spending at an insane pace, didn't make his tax cuts perminent which will essentially be a tax increase soon, increased federal regulations and intrusions across the board (education, NSA, etc.), has destroyed the value of the dollar with poor monitary policy... Point out WHY we don't support the current Republican party, because they sure as hell aren't acting like Republicans!

Can't wait to hear it-- do you need any research help from us online folks?

Awesome Nick I would stress that you heavily focus on the Fact that Ron Paul is THE TRUE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN not a Libertarian. That he is Pro-life Pro Gun Rights and Never voted for a tax increase or an unbalanced budget

i am pumped about this pennycat. you will be an excellent voice for the revolution.

you want some spiffy quotes to bust out on his azz?

Don't go on the offensive. Be like the water, flow over your enemies.

Don't get hysterical, just stick to the middle of the road Republicanism that Ron Paul is so strong on.

Strong on defense (capturing Bin Laden, Air Piracy Act, Letters of Marque and Reprisal)

Taxpayer's Best Friend

Veteran

Expert on Health Care as an OB GYN

Goldwater Conservative

Smaller government, more freedom

And the big one in my opinion, he's the strict Constitutionalist. Anyone who attacks Ron Paul's positions, is attacking the Constitution. Do Republicans support the Constitution or not? Should Americans support the President and the party above the Constitution?

Whatever you do, don't get into a mudslinging battle. This fool will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Tell him.. "Mr. Chairman, you're asking conservatives to stifle debate and blindly support a leftist candidate. You actually believe conservatives should support a friend of Ted Kennedy, Feingold, and Daschle...Just abandon all principle for power? Mr. Chairman, if we had followed your advice, we would've never had a Barry Goldwater...We would've never had a Ronald Reagan."

Throw in some Douglas MacArthur quotes for good measure:
It is part of the general pattern of misguided policy that our country is now geared to an arms economy which was bred in an artificially induced psychosis of war hysteria and nurtured upon an incessant propaganda of fear.

~General Douglas MacArthur

Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it.

~General Douglas MacArthur

I believe that the entire effort of modern society should be concentrated on the endeavor to outlaw war as a method of the solution of problems between nations.

~General Douglas MacArthur

I'd like to see that limp wristed neocon refute MacArthur.

Thanks for all the help, guys! This is going to be a great opportunity for Central Florida to hear the truth about the stagnation and close-mindedness of the local Republican party.

The host of the radio show likes to say he 'broadcasts from the 50,000 watt front porch.' in Orlando. Both the Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh syndicated programming fill the time slots prior to the Bud Hedinger show.

I've been on the show previously talking about the city's attempt to block RP supporters from leafleting during a July 4 celebration. He was quite supportive and fair (although he doesn't support RP).

Hopefully we'll have a fair fight, properly refereed;-)

One more thing. Please think about how to use the media to get the Liberty message out. If the Republican party is blocking you or doing dirty tricks, by all means start making some phone calls to tell your story. Forget press releases. Just tell it like it is. Newspapers and TV/Radio are always looking for the 'local angle'.

We have a great and positive story to tell. Just realize that the media won't let you get free advertising. Calling them up and saying, 'I support RP because he believes in the Constitution' can you do a story on it? Instead, look for the real news. In our case it is a classic David and Goliath. Big party boss seeks to protect his arse from upstart activists. The fact that it shows a split in the party adds spice.

Think creatively and always work to get a larger audience for our message.

Yes if they bring up Paul being weak on terrorism remind them that CIA Bin Laden/terrorism expert Michael Scheuer agrees with Paul's assement. Also say that if Paul was President 9/11 might not have even been attempted because he's a strong advocate of pilots being allowed to defend themselves and carry a gun if they choose...so many times that gets misconstrued in the media as Paul wanting passengers to be armed like the wild west.

50,000 watts is only 50 kilowatts, which isn't a very big
reach. All the same, kick ass and wake some people up!

Tie McCain’s position to the democrats, paint him as a liberal democrat. Bring up the bills with his name on them. Bring up his opposition to opening ANWR to oil drilling, agrees with Hillary & Obama here.

He does not have the support of gun owners, I don't know if this is a big deal in your state or not. But you can bring up his low rating with the Gun Owners of America F rating and the NRA C+ rating. Here's an excerpt from an article.

"Cox said McCain and the anti-gun control group have endured some “high-profile disagreements” in the last several years that have left many gun owners concerned about his candidacy.

Specifically, McCain played a leading role in crafting the campaign finance reform law that bears his name and that also enraged many lobbying groups. The NRA was one of the most outspoken.

At the group’s national convention in 2001, NRA President Wayne LaPierre vocalized that dismay.

“Is it possible that John McCain thinks you have too much freedom?” LaPierre asked, before adding: “I don’t know what’s happening to John McCain.”

The Arizona senator also ran afoul of the group when he pushed for tighter restrictions on buying guns at gun shows."
