Now let me start off by saying I am undecided as to who I will vote for. I do know, however, that it will not be Romney or Huntsman (even in the general election). I've been on this forum for a few weeks now and haven't started posting really until today. Now, I know the RP are a force to be reckoned with. I've seen the results, this PPP poll confirms it. But I also think the energy has been wasted on fly and die candidates like Newt (I like his rhetoric but dislike some of his positions, aka always disagreeing with one of my heroes Paul Ryan). Romney is the one I dislike the most and is also the one who will present the most challenge to whomever the alternative is (be it Paul, Bachmann, Newt, or Perry). I really think he is beatable in New Hampshire and only Paul has the chance to do it (see Insider Advantage poll). If Romney could get taken down in his beloved New Hampshire, I feel he would either drop out or essentially give up but keep going. Iowa looks like its going to Ron (be that good or bad) and I really think there's been too much apathy towards a success in NH. I say rubbish, and if it does happen, well, I may be forced to support RP before I come to decision otherwise out of lack of alternatives.

Why is Paul Ryan one of your heroes?

He supported bailouts, didn't raise hell about debt ceiling.

His image as a budget genius is just that, an image.

That said I agree with you that Romney needs more attention.

You are absolutely right.

Romney needs way more attention, whether it be his flip flopping on social issues, bailouts, health care, etc.

Welcome to the forums, and kudos for considering Ron Paul!

They field the other candidates in order to water down support for the populist candidate.

Romney and Barry Soetoro are their chosen. It does not matter which of them wins to them.

They do not care who makes the laws and manages the population as long as they control the money.

Play nice. He does not have to explain him self. I do worry that it is turning to be Romney/Paul race. Romney is commanding a lot of money and he has establishment behind him. One advantage is that there are too many who do not want Romney. If we win NH they should rally behind us.

Positive ads during the holidays. No attack ads. They have our money now. They'll use it wisely. Romney will become more of a concern after the holidays.

@schiff, I support him because of he is one of the few elected officials (besides Paul) to acknowledge that the entitlement system is not working and needs to be reformed now. I did not know he supported the bailouts, I guess I'd have to hear his rationale. And @harbinger, I'm considering Bachmann, Perry, Santorum, and Paul at the moment.

Seems like outside his base, most Iowans know about Romney's past. It would be best to go positive in Iowa until the caucuses. Electability and National Security. I agree that NH needs to be a big focus now too, but I think that much of Romney's support may be soft. A win in Iowa can change everything. Nevada should be a good state for Paul too. Trust the campaign, they are doing great!

In the end, it will be between Paul and Romney. But Iowa was not Romney stronghold, religious factors and all, so Newt had to be tackled. It's momentum building exercise.
Romney will get it too.

Many people on both sides have said that. It doesn't mean they're serious about fixing it.

ConsideringRonPaul,

Welcome. Stay a while. :)

Yes we need to expose the liberal Romney next. Especially to take NH.

Do you feel Rick Perry is intelligent enough to be the leader of this country? I would research him first and hopefully cross him off your list first. Purely based on your writing sample above, you are too smart to vote for Perry.

@beardedlinen, he did create the controversial budget plan that would have moved medicare to a voucher system. Newt Gingrich called it "right wing social engineering" initially. He took a lot of heat for it. And now he's made a new one that attempts to accomplish a similar goal. I believe he is serious about it (you don't need to be a libertarian to have a good plan to fix the economy).

Welcome aboard. The only thing I would say about the entitlement system is that Paul is the only one that addresses it from both angles. Individual welfare and Corporate welfare.

@Ronpaul101: (sigh) yes Perry is not very intelligent, but at least he understands the 10th amendment. He would (at least attempt to) return power to the states. I believe with him, he would restrain his actions as the president as he has said he wants to make Washington as inconsequential in the lives of the average American as possible. I know he does have his problems, but so do all of the candidates. And he stood by his SS comments meaning he is a man with at least some principle (yea ik gardasil was a huge mistake).

Paul Ryan at least proposed something which most politicians are fearful to do so ill give him that. But... his plan balanced the budget in 20 years. We don't have 20 years, maybe not even 5. Which makes gingrich calling it radical that much more insane on newts part.
