I don't see the problem

So now MAINE is hte turning point? Last week, Nevada was the turning point. It seems it keeps getting pushed back farther and farther. And you act as if one win is steamroll to the other states. Gingrich showsed it wouldn't.

I think the post after yours sums it up best. :)

We're in 2012, not 2008.

The only thing we know as a fact is that we're all 4 years older. But things have changed. Using the past to base what the future will be is not "fact". Fact is we don't know what will happen. To say there won't be a brokered convention now is just guessing. Let's talk solutions - do you have any?

please, don't patronize me. The comparisons are valid, the facts are coming in that back up the basic assumption that nothing is changing other than a few numbers. Those few numbers are not enough to change the overall outcome.

I had plenty of suggestions. Here is one, get rid of the silly idea that the nomination can be won on a stealth delegate strategy. Start running in every state and stop ignoring 50% of the delegates because you don't think you will do well in the type of system they are awarded. Or at the very least, stop putting the message out on the airwaves that signal concession is imminent.

I'd like to see the campaign open up many more offices. Start reaching out to communities of people and deliver the message in a way that people by an large can understand without having to sounding professorial. In other words, condense the message. Distill it down. Start responding to the results and making changes based on the results instead of running around claiming victory while gathering less than 50% of the delegates available and losing badly in the popular vote.

Start finding ways to actually get the young people to vote. Maybe actually be present in the communities that are holding their elections instead of trying to front run the leaders. How about actually reaching out to the voters who tend not to support you as shown by exit polling data. You know the same groups that didn't support or vote for you in 2008.

There are lots of very basic things that the campaign can do to change tactics or overall strategy. At this point, the main suggestion I have is to get rid of the attitude that the nomination can be won without popular support. I am not sure when that idea took hold. For the last 4 years, all the talk has been about Ron Paul winning because the message is oh so popular. Yet as soon as we start seeing results, oh popularity all of a sudden doesn't matter. MIXED SIGNALS need to gtfo.

I am about sick of that. Change the strategy by creating a multi-dimensional approach instead of continuing to do the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Yeah, our numbers have increased. But not even close to enough to win. Delegates or Popular support. At this point, I will take any change that adds to the strategy. Continuing the same path is unacceptable.

Yea, i think that tactic kind of backfired too. All that did was just self-marginalize himself, and gave the msm bait to use, saying he wasnt a serious candidate, not in it to win it, etc. Not to mention it puts the worst kind of negative vibe in the minds of voters, which was the media's intent, obviously. But i think what destroyed all that great momentum coming out of NH and getting a nice bumps in the SC polling, was several things:

1. Taking 4 days off right afterward. Just wasn't smart at all. Yes, i get Ron needed a break, or whatever, but is this really the time to do this? We can all agree this is a critical time, and Ron's last go at this. He won't get another chance, and time is the worst enemy when it comes to changing hearts and minds. If the cycle began right after Barry was elected, then yea, we could have campaigned in every state. Unfortunately, after IA, everything is bunched together and you have to do all you can in those states.

2. Upon returning, the campaign picked some terrible choices to go for events. Why not USC, why not Clemson, or other bigger venues? One of them they chose, was so bad, that Gingrich cancelled. I remember seeing it on CSPAN, people were picking on Gingrich for cancelling an event. Actually, he did so, because NO ONE was there. When i saw Ron there, there was literally like 20 people in a place that could fit like 300 or more. Total waste of time that was.

3. Blacking himself out for the Huckabee Forum. No excuse for that, i dont care if Satan himself is moderating or whatever, you need to be there for those events and deal with their bs. These are the voters Ron doesnt so do hot with, so you at least have to try to appeal to them as best as you can. Once again, he is nowhere to be seen and puts bad vibes in the minds of those voters and just reaffirms the msm narrative. Recently, he skipped out on CPAC, skipped out on Hannity's Vegas Forum. I just don't get it. Makes the campaign and RP supporters look a bit hypocritical, moaning about 'blackouts' yet they intentionally do it to themselves.

4. The debate in SC. May be too harsh on this, and im sorry, but this never should have happened. Ron simply wasnt prepared and it couldn't have possibly happened at a worse time. Reason i say this, is because the questions that Bret Baier asked him, were asked multiple times in a previous Fox debate (worded a bit differently) and Ron allowed himself to trip over his shoelaces, go off into different subjects (very rant-like) and just totally bombed, got booed, and it's obvious that was stuck in the minds of all too many people afterward. He had a chance to give a better answer and deflect it, and he let the same thing happen again.

5. No ads based on Health Care/Medicare/FP. These are both huge issues that people are concerned with about him and who tend to shun him/make excuses to not vote for him. Still to this day, nothing. Then you have Gingrich, who walks around all day quoting the founders, quoting the BoR/Constitution/DoI as if he is TJ himself, yet NO ONE wants to talk about the Toffler connection and the flat, Marxist/Anti-Constitutionalist garbage he endorsed. Ron could have easily slipped that into a debate as soon as Newt mentioned one iota about the Constitution, and yet this goes completely ignored. He could have said it in a way where people would take the time to research it, and would finally see Newt is nothing but a pure RINO socialist nutjob. It is inexcusable this isnt mentioned by Ron in debates, or at least used in an ad.

It's just really upsets me. We had so much going our way after NH. We get bumps in the SC polls, get a key endorsement from Davis, and nothing came of anything. Sometimes i wish we can rewind back to Jan 21st, uhhgg.

This was brilliant, why it is the campaign doesn't put it's "ear to the ground" and listen to feedback is beyond me.
