It's the US foreign policy... use ANY organization or party within a country to overthrow the government, which the U.S. imperialists want gone. Then after the current government is out and the new western puppet government is installed, then comes the systematic elimination of the segregated partisan groups, who were originally used to overthrow the nation.

In Iran, when the CIA sponsored regime change; the good old, divide and rule game on Iran and sponsor state terrorism, th US/UK .gov's overthrew democratically elected Iranian Premier Mohammad Mossadeq. The CIA backed, controlled, and instigated multiple political groups, some of them which deathly opposed one another, but they were all used, together, to overthrow the Mossadeq elected government.
Same goes for the rest of history and US/UK foreign policy; Vietnam, Philippines, Australia, Chile, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Panama, Venezuela, Tunisia, Egypt, Columbia, Educador, Peru, Libya, Syria, Georgia, Ukraine...
