IF (and this is a big IF) the headline is to be believed...

Artem Tashkinov shares a report:

The new estimate of the massacre of wildlife is made in a major report produced by WWF and involving 59 scientists from across the globe. It finds that the vast and growing consumption of food and resources by the global population is destroying the web of life, billions of years in the making, upon which human society ultimately depends for clean air, water and everything else. Many scientists believe the world has begun a sixth mass extinction, the first to be caused by a species -- **** sapiens. Other recent analyses have revealed that humankind has destroyed 83% of all mammals and half of plants since the dawn of civilisation and that, even if the destruction were to end now, it would take 5-7 million years for the natural world to recover. Tanya Steele, chief executive at WWF, said: "We are the first generation to know we are destroying our planet and the last one that can do anything about it."

If it is to be believed, perhaps Freedom, including Economic Freedom which must also include Freedom from Over Consumption of everything, would also include Freedom to live a touch more humbly by ones own choice, and hopefully Freedom for ALL LIFE to not be destroyed by Marxist Consumerism?

Thoughts? And yes, even Skeptics?

My thoughts are that these are the same sorts of folks who thought we were running out of oil, or that New York City would be under water by 2014 or any of the other absurd things that they say that they are never held to account for. Their models are not facts. Their bias is evident. Their estimations are silly.

Politically motivated neo-conservationists. That is: conserve plants; exterminate humanity.

I suppose human suffering and life expectancy should be retarded back to 5000 BC and all would be right in the world.

Mother of God. :astonished:

Not the Indian Crocodiles, Giant Otters, and Spider Monkies. :sorrow:

21,000 animal populations are monitored for time series data gathered from a variety of sources (articles, journals, etc.)

57 million plus square miles on earth (or one animal population monitored for every 2,700 square miles).

We have two years to form a global initiative, they say.

I say they have no real idea of what they are talking about and their facts are guesstimations gathered from faulty data. And that's even ignoring their premise that humans are solely responsible for this "massacre."

Brian, for the love of God, please nix these filters. They are absurd. We cannot even discuss **** sapiens without having the nanny filters nuke our sentences.

Please?

DOH!!!!!!
