Huh? Bush is against "too much" government?

I was a really good speech, very year 2000 Bush like. If only he stuck to it...

"Nov. 13 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush today urged leaders of the world's biggest economies not to abandon free- market capitalism as they seek an escape from the financial crisis, calling it the ``best system'' for delivering growth. "

He's about 100 years too late. :(

Not surprising, think about this logically.

Bush says he is against government when he thinks there is too much of it.

All he has said is...

1) He opposes things he opposes.
2)At some point, he believes there could be excessive government.

I honestly believe he doesn't understand what he reads from the teleprompters anymore. He's spent 8 years building bigger government and moving us closer to European style regulation and yet now he's saying he's against it? .. it's just bizarre.

The only other logical explanation is that he has split personalities and the "Bush 2000" personality just bubbled up to the surface for a few days. heh..

or.. . he thinks the American public is so stupid an unaware of what he's been doing that they'll just lap up what he's saying without realizing that it's all a huge lie.

or.... (even scarier) he honestly believes what he's been doing for the last 8 years has streamlined our government and made it smaller, reduced bureaucracy, and enabled free market capitalism. Now THAT would be some insanity.

Obama two weeks ago in Des Moines:
"I don't believe in bigger governement, or smaller, governement, I believe in smarter governement."

Bush yesterday:
"I don't believe in bigger government, I believe in smarter government."

They share the lack of belief in smaller government. More of the same.

What Bush has seen scares him, so its really scary to the rest of us.

I think you are on to something there. I think he is starting to realize what he has released with the bailout. Going to Europe has made him realize how large this socialist wave is going to get. He has opened the floodgate but what he is hearing from the European leaders is probably really scaring him and like you said it should terrify us!

too bad bush is a lame duck ... i was surprised when the regulations he was calling for were actually agreeable. He's actually right in this case, which is a pretty huge shock. However, it won't be until Obama takes over that talks will really get serious, so Bush is essentially powerless here.

just like they say about Ron Paul, it's easy to say good stuff and outrageous lies when you know you can't get elected.
