I come to a strategical conclusion last night. Someone else mentioned Ron Paul at a birthday party I went to last night. None of these people are politically involved and largely don't care. I simply asked my apathetic friends that if I brought over the papers and I mailed them in and drove them to the California's primary in June if theyd vote for Paul. Long story short, theres going to be a registration party coming up, and I'll be driving more than ten people to the polls for the California primary.
The conclusion, after fruitlessly debating and reaching out to politically active groups like my Republican family and the occupy group at my University, UC Davis, I won a ton of votes by reaching out to friends who really don't care. My new strategy is to go after easy votes rather than trying to convert political activists.
Appeal to people's apathy and laziness, its much easier than trying to convince people philosophically.
