HuffPo Runs Nice Background Article On Ron Paul

If you do a quick search on 'Ron Paul accepts Social Security', you'll see a bunch of stuff come up. I read through a few of them. Some are taking the same tack as the MSNBC wag did the other day and some are more balanced. Most of the comments to these stories are defending Dr. Paul, though. Good to see that and good to see that he's not being ignored anymore.

Think Progress did a hit piece and the 'automatic echo chamber' spread it. They are sort of like AP for the leftist netroots that don't have the analytic ability to formulate their own blogs.

The way I look at it, all he has to say is that he put money into it, just as everyone else has. That social security question was just absolutely nonsense.

Paul is pretty bad about bragging about things. I estimated his congressional pension a while back based on the formula on Wikipedia and he's given up high six figures to low seven figures in pension income. He should shove that back in the faces of people who complain that he takes social security. What's crazy is he unwillingly paid into social security with the promise of getting that money back and not people are mad because he's getting HIS money back. WTF.

There are a lot of other things Paul should have done a better job bragging about too. Unfortunately he is not into self promotion.

If he were, he wouldn't be our guy. It was the campaign's job to brag about this imho. And ours, of course... as if we don't. But yeah, it doesn't even occur to him to use those kind of responses.

I agree. I like RP because he let's his record of being right speak for itself. For me that actually says more than if he actually said it himself. The problem is the average person is mesmerized by windbags like Donald Trump who tell the world how great they are.

Someone started a thread on another forum about this and called Ron the 'poster boy for hypocrisy'. I hit him with a few truths (not enrolling in House pension, not taking Medicare in his med. practice, wanting his salary as POTUS to be $39,000 a year, turning down an offered scholarship because he thought the couldn't perform with his knee injury as well as he should) and thanked him for exposing Ron as a fraud. :D

Funny enough, he hasn't responded.

This recent attempt to discredit Ron is hilarious and is blowing up in the faces of those that try to smear him with it.

No question that hes a humble man. He didnt even like to ask for our votes and hated to ask for our money.

Not sure what we would call this, but I liked this attitude. I think that some self promotion is necessary.

Man, I loved this moment, he owned these SOBs with authority.

"I'm the most Conservative member here".

That's how we do.
