Ron Paul has it right....only way to have a chance at influencing the nation overall is to do so through one of the main parties.

I think recent republican failures can only open up more for a more libertarian change in the Republican party.....

I understand ,but look it took the parting of the red sea for me to even join the republican party 1 yr ago. It just baffles me. I hope the republican party wises up in 4 yrs because they have lost this election before it even began. What the republican party has done to ron paul disgusts me. The gop is scum in my eyes after what they pulled on ron paul and are still pulling.

My loyalty is to the message and if in 4 yrs they havent adopted the republican message then i have no choice but to look elsewhere and if they nominate mccain or huckabee then ill have to look elsewhere. I'll keep the r next to my name for the next 4 yrs if they dont shape up ,ill ship them out for good.

If the Republican Party is the future, it will be because we took it by force. That is why I advocate getting Dr. Paul on the states' ballots with or without them.

Fiscal conservatives and civil libertarians are integral parts of the Reagan coalition, and they can't win without us under any circumstances. Time to prove it to them by splitting their vote.

I think the threat will be enough--especially when the courts rule Panama John ineligible.

first it isnt the msm.its the republican party and its members who are choosing mccain/huckabee. I have always been a Republican, but I will not vote for them until they put up a real, respectable conservative as the nominee. This discounts McCain and Huckabee. Huckabee is just a likeable guy, but his religious zealotry and his economic views toss him out for me. McCain is the only way we can get worse than Bush.

2006 was the first time I voted for another party, the independent green party in the VA senate race, and this will be the second time unless something huge happens to change that vote. Then after they lose the election, I will focus on changing the party from within.

I agree. I think Huckabee would do better vs Obama. McCain comes off both awkward and arogant when he speaks. Huckabee would go better because he has a way with people, and that is what the 30% of people in the middle vote based on. Also, Huckabee would sweep the south, McCain might not.

If you look at the head to head polls at realclearpolitics.com regarding McCain v Hillary or Obama, he does way better than Huck v Hillary or Obama.

So, the only evidence I've seen is contrary to what you are saying. What evidence can you point me to that says otherwise?

You made the statement that Huck has a better chance against Obama than McCain, so it's up to you to provide some evidence. Right now, any evidence I've seen is contrary to that.

McCain and Huckabee are both equally bad in my opinion. I'm voting for Paul in the general election regardless. But if you want to play that lesser evil stuff, at least back up your statements with something.
