I just did the math and Huckabee has been mathematically eliminated! We need to tell everyone and I mean everyone! This is huge and Huckabee can't justify staying in the race anymore. There are only 963 delegates left in this race and Huckabee has 176. In order to win the nomination, you need at least 1,191 delegates and if Huckabee wins EVERY SINGLE DELEGATE LEFT, he will end up with 1,139. Game over Huckabee! Spread the word!

Can we say "pot calling the kettle black"?
Or..."what does that make us"?

Doesnt that mean that we're also mathematically eleminated, since he has won more states?

nope

Nope....just has to have majority of delegates in five states prior to convention.

AFter that all the mccain or romney votes could go to him and he could win...

Wouldnt this also mean that Ron is also "mathematically eliminated"

You might want to think about this, its a two edged knife.

two words to think about

"Brokered Convention"

So now all we need to worry about is mathematically eliminating Romney and McCain.

So if Huckabee has no chance, what does that say about Ron Paul?

Think strategically

Are you nuts? We want Huck to stay in the game until the very very end! Mitt too! We need them to help us make sure that McCain doesn't get enough delegates, so we have a brokered convention! Why do you think the Ron Paul supporters swung support to Huckabee in W. VA? <sigh>

Besides the obvious stupidity of making such a statement as a Ron Paul supporter, he's not technically mathematically out yet. The delegate counts on MSM sites aren't what they appear. They're highly conservative in their estimates of who has how many. In reality, Huckabee has somewhere over 200 with 1,100 delegates outstanding. Even Ron Paul might not be eliminated mathematically from a 1st ballot win, but that's really a tossup.

As I said elsewhere...

The remaining states being who they are, Romney and Huckabee should do far better than McCain. And Pauls can do very well in several of them. 400 delegates going into the national convention will make sure Romney is out... since nobody will deal with him.

Leaving the McCain-Huckabee deal that will infuriate ALOT of the base.

The race needs to be redefined as if the general election race is already on.

McCain-Huckabee vs Obama vs Paul

So if Huckabee has no chance, what does that say about Ron Paul?

Conservatively speaking, if 10% of the other candidate's delegates (Huck included) are actually trojan horse Ron Paul delegates, RP will have at least 250+ delegates just based on results to date. If the nominee isn't decided in the primaries, or on the first ballot at the convention, RP's odds at being the nominee or a king maker are better than Huck's.

The only person(s) I'd like to see leave at this point would be Mcwar or Romulan but even then, it's better to have them dividing up the delegates as much as possible at this point.

You do realize that in a 4-man race, all four candidates may be "mathematically eliminated", right?
