a Romney/Paul or Paul/Romney team would be unstoppable against the Obama machine.

Just reporting in.

(He voted for Ron Paul in the primary here last time, is big into gun rights, but leans slightly neocon.)

IMO, such a coalition would take the social cons down a few notches, and deservedly so. IMO.

If he is offered such a position, and we are not in a position to win, I hope he has the political acumen to take the position and move the liberty movement a giant step forward.

the giant step forward of using your votes to put in the White House a statist who will grow the size of government?

it would probably unite the Republican party but Ron Paul won't accept it.

You guys are talking crazy. There is very good reason RP won't accept it. Last I remember this isn't about uniting the GOP. What are the differences between Romney and Obama? Is Romney a true conservative? Does Romney embrace any of the values of Ron Paul?

COALITIONS...What are they, in Ron Paul's world?

People working together to accomplish a particular pro-liberty objective, even if they don't agree on other issues.

I can tell you what it's not: It's not pro-liberty people agreeing to promote anti-liberty objectives.

Uh, no, the movement is not "moved forward" by supporting another anti-liberty, pro-war, pro-big government politician. I think the word you were looking for was "crippled" or maybe "co-opted".

Why wouldn't he?

The same reason he wouldn't accept a position as Obama's running mate. He stands for everything RP's against.

In fact, the reason I support RP at all is precisely because he's refused to support anti-liberty bills and politicians for the sake of political expediency.
