HR 1207 - Bernanke warns of economic collapse if Fed Audit bill passes

Fuck Ben

is it just too goddam simple to look at where the economy is now and figure out that this guy has no credibility?

what ben doesnt seem to realize is that for many of us, the economy has already collapsed. i say audit the hell out of the fed, and get rid of them when the lies and corruptions are exposed. things cant get much worse for me, and many others as well.

LOL, a monetary takeover by the Congress....OH, YOU MEAN WHERE IT'S CONSTITUTIONALY SUPPOSED TO BE!?!

Fuck you Bernanke.

Exactly, how can we maintain that this government is by, of, and for the people when it is seen as a bad thing or an inconvenience for elected officials to be in charge of our entire monetary future? Bernanke is essentially saying the people don't deserve a say and he knows what he's doing--trust him.

Isn't Congress supposed to be in charge of monetary policy?

Bernanke said
"My concern about the legislation is that the GAO is auditing not only the operational aspects of our programs and details of the programs but is making judgments about our policy decisions that would effectively be a takeover of monetary policy by the Congress, a repudiation of the independence of the Federal Reserve, which would be highly destructive to the stability of the financial system, the dollar, and our national economic situation,"
Wasn't Congress originally supposed to be the ones making the decisions about monetary policy?

And does Ben not normally reply to Ron that Congress gives the Fed the power that it has over monetary policy?

I think about how much money has been actually printed or is just in circulation, and it really makes your head spin. That's the big question, how much money do actually owe to this entire system if it is kept around. How much have they printed? I wouldn't be surprised if it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 trillion. It's like their trying to reach infinity. I say it's ZERO. So tired of this fraud.

By the way Duncan is the only other Republican to vote against the iraq war besides RP. He has the closest voting record to RP.

Duncan seems like the man. I can't believe we don't hear more about him on this forum and in the patriot movement in general. I just read a lot about him and he seems to be with us almost 100%. I don't know enough about his voting record to completely vouch for him... but I know he voted against the Iraq War, Patriot Act, NCLB, Real ID, the Bailout, and also Cap and Trade! That's better than at least 90% of congress anyway.

Here's a quote I found of his:

"I'm for small government over big government; small business over big business. I hate to see a small business go under or a big business grow wild through tax breaks and favorable regulatory rulings. We see that so much in the military/industrial complex that President Eisenhower warned us about more than 50 years ago."

John Duncan's a great guy. He's almost as fiscally conservative as Ron Paul, he's strongly anti-Iraq War (even voted against it) and he supports withdraw from the United Nations. We need to keep him in office.

Gladly, I don't think we have to worry about that... I read that he gets reelected by HUGE margins every time -I'm talking in the 70%80%+ range. :)

I wonder where he stands on issues like the War on Drugs, etc...

A bump, and...

I'm not up on Duncan... yet. But, doesn't the phrasing of Duncans question invite a little fear mongering by Ben? Is it some kind of political dance? Am I missing something?

Bunkloco

I'm sure it will collapse. Gold will skyrocket as it could no longer be manipulated in secret, and the dollar will be worthless. The illusion cannot be maintained if there is going to be transparency with HR1207. Bernanke is probably right on this one, but he says it as a threat, whereas I say it as a high probability.

Fortunately, after the dollar collapses, we can get back to the real debate as to why the founders would have wanted a currency based on something of intrinsic value like gold or silver, rather than money that can be printed at whim. That is the silver lining I am hoping for.

I think we all know the economy is going to collapse we probably just disagree on the degree of severity.

When it does happen, HR1207 is going to get blamed, libertarianism is going to get blamed, freedom is going to get blamed. We all know it's a lie, but I think we also all know that the ignorant masses will buy it. I am really worried this bill will do more damage than good.

An audit is a problem for an institution only if they cook their books and have balance sheet problems.

I don't think even the sheeple will believe that an audit can be remotely responsible for an economic collapse.

Sunshine will destroy it? So, the institution is vampiric?
Yep. Babylon system is a vampire.

It seems to me that what he's saying is an admission that the Fed's crooked as hell. Isn't it?

Sunshine>discovery of thievery>abolition of the Fed one way or another>"dollar" collapse. Am I missing something?
Yes, absolutely.
