As we have it, more women are attending college, and for the first time there are more women in the workforce. However, there is still a majority of people who believe that men should be the bread-winner, should pay for dates, pay child support, etc. How is all of this going to be possible when men are crushed beneath the boot of feminist bigotry?

It's not going to be possible, like so many other things, we, as a society, have boxed ourselves into an untenable corner on so many levels it's not even funny.

The dirty trick is on women, who were sold a bill of goods that they had to go out and work as well.

The system liked that idea, doubled the tax and debt rolls don't you know.

Now the gap between male and female life expectancy is closing, because of it.

The difference in life expectancy between men and women in the United States dropped from 7.8 years in 1979 to 5.3 years in 2005.

I feel that I'm doing alright. I'm 23 and in my last semester of college. I bring home around 300 a week from a job I work at 4 days a week. I'm only taking 3 classes. I have 40,000 dollhairs in student loan debt and about 300 dollhairs worth of credit card debt. The credit card will be paid off this month. The student loans will disappear once I get a job. I have a promising offer with a saw mill company doing accounting work.

I feel good with where I'm at.

My fiance makes 7.50 an hour. I've been unable to land a job in the last year. Our rent is over 600 a month and we have two children. If not for our student loans, we would be homeless.

I would actually put that on a (theoretical) profile, with some minor modifications. A significant other who is unemployed in the long term, and is not seeking a job or is on Government checks... no thanks. There are several people on RPFs who make their own way, and I am one of them. I have heard an awful lot of "there are no jobs!" but that is simply not true, and it's not the philosophy I was raised with and in which I believe. I have worked some pretty low-paying jobs to pass the time. I have worked two or three of them at a time.

I don't think there's anything wrong with this. Some of you seem to want a housewife type, and you should be free to put that as well. It's a personal preference. I don't need riches, I don't need a guy to make more than I, but I do need him to please be putting forth some kind of effort.

I'm glad someone brought this up. I've long held that we are heading into a disastrous social period. Having perused the online dating world, I noticed that one of the things that many women state in their profiles is that the man must be employed, have a house, car, etc. My thought is that they are coming across so many unemployed men that they feel the need to include that.

As for myself, I got back into the workforce (yay!), and while I make well above minimum wage (yay!), I'm forced to live with my family (boo!). Meanwhile, people on foodstamps and welfare have nicer things than I do it seems (boo!).

Ha , I once lived on the South side of a large city when I was young , was the only guy on my block with a job , and yeah , everbody else probably had nicer things , but , hell with it Phil !

6 months ago me and the wife together made about 65K. now her job was cut. im at 24 hrs a week if im lucky. i bring in around $150 - $200 a week after taxes. the only thing keeping us a float is the fact that ive always been a saver and stayed out of debt. my small home was paid off in 2002 and both vehicles are paid for. if not for that we would be screwed. she doesnt qualify for unemployment since she was considered self employed by the firm she worked for. i also dont qualify because i am considered part time.

Minimum wage job, but I've been spending little to nothing for the past five years and have saved like mad. Also helps that I'm still in college and can do fine living with few amenities. However, as for post-college prospects, it is looking pretty bleak.

Scary thing is the slightest changes in google algorithms could take it all away at any time and the amount of tax i'm paying makes me sick. Less than 10 years ago I used to visit the food bank. Fear of poverty returning is always lurking.

I only got my last job because my boss was also my teacher for a year, which made her comfortable hiring me. I'm registered on the major job sites and have sought help from the unemployment office. There's a flip side to that coin too. For some reason companies that are hiring don't actually hire anyone. I've applied to at least a hundred different places over the past year. I've been interviewed six or seven times, yet I haven't been hired. I exceed the minimum requirements for every job I've applied for (sometimes even exceed the preferred requirements), yet I haven't been hired. I find it very odd.

I've held a high-tech manufacturing job, a retail management position, a retail commission-based sales position, a stocker position, cashier positions, and even a telemarketing position, yet I haven't been hired. It's very frustrating.

I lived down in Tennessee for a short while, and I found it very difficult to move back to West Virginia due to neither of us having a job. Some apartments said they'd want 6 months rent down. It's hard to land a job in a place without living there.
