I got my long-time democrat grandmother to stop watching the MSM and vote for RP because he is the only one with a plan that will cut our debt and guarantee SS is funded for those who need it. I got my father to get over the "I love him, but he's not electable" hump, so now almost my entire family is for Ron Paul (Mother, Father, Step-mother, brother, fiance, grandmother, aunt, and two cousins). Of course, My fiance, mom, brother, and I were on the bandwagon since 2007 (I still have the Ron Paul 2008 sticker on beside my 2012 sticker on my car).

I´m a Swiss citizen. I have a great uncle (brother of my grandfather) aged 83 living in South FL with his wife (81 years). He is a mainstream republican and a Korea veteran. Always voted how the TV pundits told him to. Same with his wife. I´ve started lobbying them since summer of 2011. They were very suprised that a relative from overseas tried to talk them into voting for a guy who they were told is crazy, dangerous, unelectable etc. Fortunately they have a computer, so I sent them mails with links to youtubes where Dr Paul predicts basicly everything what is happening right now. It made them think, but still the msm talking point came up: unelectable, weak on defence and most importantly: WANTS to eliminate SS and Medicare/Medicaid. This was the big hurdle, because it affects them personally. So I started to search for videos with Ron talking about his transition plan and how he would protect seniors by cutting elsewhere. Finally, they started coming arround. They are still also considering Romney, because they want to pick the winner, but I've recently sent them some material on Romney's flip flopping awaiting an answer
In essence, SS and MC is the issue. You have to explain the transition plan.

Got my 84 yo mom to vote for Ron in the Iowa caucuses.

Funny thing is... it was the super brochure that converted him lol. He read every word of it then watched paul in a debate and was sold. He just said, "I wish they'd all stop with these damned BS plans they make. They all lie, they never do what they say, plan plan plan blah blah blah." and that was his only gripe. He's a marine and WW2 vet, and of course on SS. He also converted my uncle but sadly that happened after republican party switch date cut off.
