Want to help Ron Paul win the New Orleans straw poll, but can't make it to New Orleans in April? Help those that can attned with this Chip In. This will ensure cash-strapped Ron Paul supporters coming in from out of town won't end up sleeping at a bus station or rest stop.

http://ronpaul2012.chipin.com/lodgin...aul-supporters

Here are the details:

1. The funds will be used for an economy rate hotel such as Motel 6, Super 8, Econolodge, etc. Hotel will be walking distance from event and for Friday and Saturday night only.

2. Any Ron Paul supporter will be allowed crash space in the hotel room. No request for crash space will be refused.

3. If there are any funds left over after securing the hotel for Friday and Saturday night, these funds will be used to pay for campaign materials to be used at the conference. Once the event is closed, I will provide a complete accounting of how the funds were used.

Thanks for your support!

I'm in. Sorry it's not more.

I'm second!!

WHOOO - HOOOO!!!

"In for Ten!"

Come on, everyone! How about a few more people tossing in a five or ten spot?

Total donations thus far: $90 (leaving $86.48 after PayPal fee). Thanks to all who have donated so far!

I've checked Motel 6, Super 8, Sun, Red Carpet, Econolodge, and America's Best Value. Here are the two best deals I've found:

Lowest cost overall, but distance may be a stretch:
Motel 6 @ 4200 Old Gentilly Road
Cost: $91.98 total for Fri and Sat night
Distance to walk to conference: 5.75 miles
I could cover this with the donations already received, but walking 5+ miles to the conference may be too much for some. That's about an hour long jog or a two hour walk. It's no problem for me, but I'm fairly athletic.

Lowest cost within 3 miles of conference:
America's Best Value Inn @ 2820 Tulane Ave
Cost: $126.77 total for Fri and Sat night
Distance to walk: 2.4 miles, which should not be a problem for anybody.

We only need another $40 to get the closer location. Once I have enough to cover the room at Tulane Ave, I will immediately book the room.

I just pitched in $20. Make sure you fill this room! The East Coast won CPAC, the South should be able to pull this off!

Ten FRNs to ya. Your at $120 now good job! Get the word out and pack some others in the room.
Of course you should get dibs on the bed. Or at least first shower while the waters still hot.:D

Hey! If there is a crash pad, I will make the trek! I have to take a bus there, but w/e. I just couldn't find a place where I could afford to rent out for 2 nites. I'd be willing to pay for cab ride for a car full once I get there.

Anymore details on this?

Thanks! I have a feeling the room will fill up fast, which is a good thing. I won't be turning anyone away, though I can't make any promises on how comfortable the accomodations will be.

As far as the bed, I do plan on taking it :D - That is, unless this turns into a co-ed affair, in which case any ladies present would get the bed while the guys take the floor.

There will be free crash space available for any and all. It's BYOB though (Bring your blanket). I haven't yet reserved the room (still a few dollars short) but will as soon as I can. I can probably come up with the last few dollars myself by tomorrow afternoon. Once the room is reserved I will start a new thread with more info.

YouTube or it didn't happen :D

LOL that's no fun!! ;)

Serious note: Be careful how heavily you "stuff" the room. Some motels will turn a blind eye, but others get absolutely pissy about having more than 4 people per room. You might want to carefully check the motel's web site in regard to their "persons per room" policy.

Not trying to be a wet blanket, just trying to provide a word of caution.

Best of luck to you, and BUMP for that last $20 (by my calculation) to put you over the top!! Come on, everyone!! :)

Thank you all! The hotel room is booked!

If you need a free place to crash in New Orleans on Fri and/or Sat night, PM me. No one will be refused.

I can fit a lot of people in a MINI Cooper, so I'm sure we can fit a lot in a hotel room. Key will be keeping the noise level down so as not to attract a lot of attention.
