How Would You Feel If The Bailout Turned A Profit?

You're in sufficiently rarefied air in that determination that you may wish to re-visit the integrity of other of your opinions.

Don't make excuses for others.

I was a small businessman for 15 years.

I got no hand-outs.

Why should glorified pricks steal your hard - earned?

Turned a profit for WHO?

Precisely.

There is going to be so much looting of this money from the very start that there is not a snowballs chance in hell that the government will turn a profit.

But if by some miracle there would be a profit, the very ones forcing this bill down our throats will make sure that the taxpayers never see a penny.

I don't know if you caught my last post, but I've changed my stance on the bailout... The bailout still has a chance at yielding a positive return, but it's ignorant of the long-term inflation effect.
I'll bet you a TRILLION dollars, that the taxpayers WON'T ever get a refund. ;) :D

Why shouldn't they, if the earners will let them? Greed is not the crime. Greed is human nature.

For the record, though the bailout is apt to have a beneficial impact on my portfolio, I am stridently opposed to the Great Bailout...not only for the Conscienceless Uber Rich, who would have y'all clean up their toxic debt just as surely as they would have you clean up their toxic waste, AND for the "victims."

I would remind my lavish government that those people ALREADY can't afford the houses.

And I mean to hound my thieving, self-serving, self-aggrandizing government that laws were broken, and that the people demand justice.

FREE BARRABAS!

For my part, I will welcome a thousand potsmokers back into society...right after they sign that paper that precludes a legal action...for every Greedy Bastard "White" Collar Criminal whose "careers" we can derail and whose assets we can seize.

Take everything but one million dollars. Nuthin' cruel or inhuman about coming out of prison to start in on a million bucks plus interest.

If a thing is profitable, there will be more of it. That's the name of that tune.

For a success story, look to Ireland's reaction to an emergence of organized trade in hard drugs by seizure of assets.

Peace.

Let them eat cheese!

Wow! Government aged cheese!

Sorry mate,

Greed sucks.

A comfortable profit kept me in business.

I am proud that my employees stuck with me and helped my business.

It also made me happy that I helped people pay off their mortgages.

What's wrong with you?

Shit heads like you will take their money overseas, instead of seeing the big picture.

A list at least as long as the one that ails the Big Boys. Which is why I shouldn't be paying for their therapy.

OF COURSE Greed sucks. Greed has long been held to be one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

That's why a civilized society requires law, and a capitalistic market requires regulation, because the Honor System is inadequate safeguard against the dark side of human nature.

What's wrong with ME? I am not among Defeatists and Scaredy Cats who conceded the inevitability of a bill before a bill was even written.

I am not the one who lets crook after crook after crook after crook off easy...WITH his ill-gotten gains.

oh yeah by the way, once that profit turns back to the treasury it will be spent on one of Obamas "needed" welfare programs

Do you think good ole' uncle sam is going to mail you a check?

thats how i feel!

Exactly. The profit would stay in Uncle Sam's pocket. I'd never see or get back my share of that $700B or the profit it produced.

That's why this whole bailout mess is BS through and through.

Government turning a profit in business? That's some scary stuff. It's called corporatism (fascism) as you may recall.

The bailout is bad, even if it does turn a profit. Because then they would use that bill as a measure to get more corporate welfare handouts to their corporate buddies. It's why it needs to be stopped. The very foundation of Capitalism is at stake here.

Can't argue with that.

Fair call.
