I think I've got a decent arsenal, thanks to the extra resources you guys have given me.

Paul walks them logically through admitting that they do not believe in the current law as it stands on abortion...

Also remind them that Ron Pauls stance on abortion is NOT the extremist religious rights position of forcing their religion on the rest of us by changing the Constitution to outlaw abortion and who knows what next after that...

He knows Paul doesn't support the war. That's not enough for him, I guess. This is what he said to me, "He sounds like a great guy and an honest person. I like his foreign policy. I just don't understand why he is running as a republican".

You see, to this guy, "republican" means "bad person".

Tell him that those who vote by party name are trapped in the media led division of this country.

Paul would even be OK with any Social Program that Dems want, as long as they do it at the State level where it will be more efficient anyway.

Remind him that Both Hillary and Obama funded the War and voted FOR the Patriot Act.

oh this is easy. He probably is all for the social programs like universal healthcare.
Just tell him these things will probably never be settled at the federal level because so many people are on both sides.

But with Paul states would be able to do things on their own. So for instance if Georgia wanted universal healthcare or a better welfare then they could pass it at the state level.

So rather than trying to liberalize the nation all at once you could pass it at the state level. If it worked then other states would adopt similar laws/policies.

I said this because only Republicans generally will be able to vote for Ron Paul with few exceptions for Independents and/or Dems.

I read a piece of an essay to convert liberals to conservatives (I think it was via Daily Paul), but I forget the title. I think it was written by a woman in a pretty cryptic "F.A. Hayek" style. The main point of the essay was that many historical actions carried out under good intentions did more harm than actions carried out under evil intentions. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

My liberal friends that I talk to have an appreciation for their own individual liberty. However, that's where it ends. They seem to have no problem letting government take away other people's liberty. They see many types of corporations and industries as evil and think that they should have their money taken away from them.

What they don't understand is that they're opening the flood gates for government to impose bad legislation against themselves as well, since they've chosen that individual rights are different for different groups of people.

They can be "converted", but I don't know why you should... Liberals already don't trust the government... they are just willing to give authority to prevent destruction of liberty... ie, not allowing restrictions.

Come on, this isn't even suppose to be argued about. In this movement conservatives and liberals are suppose to be friends. Our main enemy is the government. We just differ on more social issues like gay marriage and abortion.

He's an Obama supporter, but he's "lukewarm", in his own words. He isn't enthusiastic about any of the dems, so thats a good thing.

Any info specific to Obama, or anything to compare Obama to Paul would help massively.

Explain to them that democratic policies result in violence. Show them "the gun in the room" by explaining that taxation is theft that if not paid will eventually result in kidnapping (prison) or death if the person resists his kidnappers.
