First, he should condemn the riots. There is absolutely no excuse for inciting fear and damaging private property. Those are severe crimes and should not be excused just because people are upset.

Second, he should call on the police to demilitarize. This is America. We do not need tanks on the streets. Military grade equipment must not be used on American citizens, especially nonviolent protesters.

I'm not sure if taking away their equipment is the best idea, considering that the rioters and looters aren't being effectively contained as it is currently. Seems like we just need more police and more MRAPs.

Also what would help a lot is the Active Denial System. Now that I think about it, that system seems like it would actually work very well mounted onto a drone. Now that would be fucking sweet.
