Man I hope some of you guys have saved up some dry powder to put a dent in these big predictions.

I want to raise at least 6.5 million, so we can break Hillary Clinton's record of 6.2 million.

Wow, a 1/3rd think we'll be over $10Mil and a 1/5th at $6mil. Big discrepancy.

My guess will be $7mil - $8mil.

Not surprisingly, that Hillary figure turned out to be a fake. It was 2 and a half days of collective fundraisers in NY and Miami over a weekend... that was tallied and submitted on one day. If memory serves I believe the largest SINGLE day amount she got in that weekend was $2.6-8 million, according to FEC filings.

Likewise, the urban myth of Kerry's $5.7 million. Again, FEC filings reveal it was actually $2.7 million.

I've been saying I anticipate $8 million for the day. But a little review math has got me thinking it might be significantly more.

The 5th of November event had 18,000 commitments and generated about $4.2 million online. But the number of hits the site had was nothing like what we're seeing for the TeaParty. Almost 211,000 hits in 5 weeks, or 40,000 hits a week.

And while we don't expect ALL of those people to donate something, I believe most will. So if we end up 32,000 people committed who wind up averaging $175 each, that's $5.6 million. Then add another 125,000 who average $40 each, that's another $5 million.

That could make for a $10.6 million dollar day.

PS- Such a day would have the bonus of raising more in one day than ANY of the GOP candidates raised in all of 3rdQ. :D

Minimum six mil. A buddy of mine who supports Obama but is sympathetic to Paul (I'm working on it) believes we'll hit ten milliion. My optimism has been put to shame by another.

i think people are underestimating the market for the message of liberty. money will come out of nowhere and everywhere and a herding effect will occur later on in the day and the donations will snowball unitll it gets silly.. my main concern is that these funds are in the hands of smart people who can make use of a substantial capital reserve.

Unfortunately, This Nov. 5 still had more hits (240K) than Tea Party '07 has. I'm hoping that all the extra media coverage and YouTube videos mean many people didn't go to the website but still plan on donating.

I held off voting until today because I wanted to be sure of what I believe the potential to be.I voted 10 Mill plus.

Judging by the number who have pledged compared to last time and the number of people I have seen saying they will max out I have voted 9 million. I think it could go higher but with 9 million we will surpass 20 million for the quarter, which will be newsworthy in and of itself.

I voted $6 Million because I feel that's where the pledges point me to and I want to see Hillary's one day record beat.

But I'm hoping for EXACTLY $10,002,008 ;-)

Maybe add an 08 in your donation somewhere as a symbolic gesture. :P
