How much is Schiff contributing?

Sorry if this has been answered. He looks like he is quite well off. What kind of money is he willing to plunk down as a donation to his campaign, not a loan?

He hasn't specified an amount, but I assume million(s). He can't afford to finance the whole race.. he's no Ross Perot.. but he is willing to make a deep financial sacrifice as long as we are willing to step up to the plate and fund a good portion of his run.

I don't part with my money very easily, but I could see myself donating if Schiff's contributions are of the non-loan type.

Even if Peter put several million dollars into the race, he would get a huge ROI on that money by raising his public profile and attracting new clients to Europac.

Im guessing you guys think he is a Mitt Romney? Why on earth would he spend millions of his own money, to get a job that pays $174,000 per year? Even at the end of his 6 year term, he still will not have even have broken even. Not to mention, he doesnt really want the job anyways. I just dont see someone with the financial smarts like he has, delving that deep into his own pockets to get a job he doesnt really want to begin with...

I don't think he is a Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney is a fake person, who said what he thought people wanted to hear.

Schiff is a real person who says what he thinks people need to hear.

Huge Difference.

I think a million sounds steep, but I don't know his net worth. I'd say 100-200k sounds more reasonable, but then again if he's extremely rich, who knows how much he's willing to risk.

A lot of his net worth is in his company.

Every time he gets a new client and does well with their funds, he gets a pretty good boost in his net worth. That's on top of the fact that he probably made very good decisions with his own personal investments...

Schiff's clients are definitely on the wealthy side. I think there's a $20,000 minimum to open an account there. Knowing some clients of his, and knowing the county that he and I both are residents of, it is easy to assume that many of his clients are successful CEOs of big corporations, celebrities, and entrepreneurs.

In Peter's case I believe the contributions serve two purposes. One is to raise money obviously. The other is to show the media and voters (who don't know who he is) that he does have a huge base of support and is worth considering.

you know if he got elected and still ran Europac i have no doubt that he would be hounded for corruption etc...

Yup, because he would also be fighting for lower taxes and the liberal/fascists will paint him as some evil Rich guy that just wants to help his own greedy business out.

Peter knows that you can't cut taxes without cutting spending though, so he'll definitely be able to make these people look like idiots, with his smooth talking points .

We're definitely going to have enemies though, and this may change peter's positive public opinion to a more controversial one.

Schiff charges fees and has partners/staff, so it's not as simple as that.

I doubt he will want to sink so much in without the public also backing him. As he said in a video he is making the sacrifice by putting himself forward

Yeah. Mitt Romney is fabulously wealthy. Peter Schiff is not. The idea that he would put "millions" in to the race is ridiculous. Peter Schiff runs a small boutique brokerage firm. He went through a divorce a few years ago that likely cut his already modest net worth in half. I think some of you are grossly overestimating the kind of coin Peter Schiff has. I think $50,000-$100,000 is more in line with a reasonable expectation of how much of his own loot we could expect him to use on his own campaign.

WE have to raise the dough, he is doing the hard part which is putting himself forward (possibly)
