I'm one but I have to know how. I live in CT. I"m independent and will register republican just to vote for Ron Paul.

anybody else?

I've just become of age to vote a year ago, so this will be my first election, but I am going to vote for Ron Paul for sure.

I am a Democrat, switching Republican so I can vote for Paul in the primaries.

I've seen TONS of comments posted around the web about other people who are planning to do the same. One place where I saw many such comments was to the NYT caucus blog post on Ron Paul several days ago.

I am currently registered as a Democrat, however in light of Ron Paul, I will be re-registering as a Republican. I know of ALOT of former life-long democrats who are doing this. Now THAT RIGHT THERE sends a POWERFUL message when done in huge numbers.

I will. This will also be the first election I vote in. Last election I was 18, and from Texas. I saw no point in voting (I was from Texas and GW won Texas by over 71%). This time, however, I will most definitely vote even if RP wins by a landslide.

I dropped out of the "system" about a decade ago.

I'll be registering to vote in the GOP primary for Dr. Paul.

Anyway to find out each state's statistics for newly registered or updated party information? If there is a huge flood of registrations and updates that has to be news!

That's a really good question. I'll try and look into it in my state.

I asked about it here the other day but I forgot to call around to see if I could find out...

I'm not affiliated with any party but in about a week I have to get my license renewed and I'll be registering republican then. I wish there was somewhere where we could see how many people have joined the party recently. I'd be interested if they've seen a spike in registration numbers.

From Green Party to republican. I hated the idea but Ron gets my 100% support.

I'm a recovering neo-con, so I don't have to switch, unfortunatly. Don't hate the Idea of switching guys. Look at it like this, you're a spy behind enemy lines, exciting eh? I love this, it's cival disobedience of the best kind. Turning the entire party system against them. Priceless.

In Texas we don't have to declare ourselves either way, we just ask for whichever party's ballot we want to vote on in the primaries.

Sorta makes it a stealth attack.

 :D

At a LP meeting it was discussed

I was invited to a small meeting of Libertarians last night and briefly discussed was whether it made tactal sense to change their party registration to Republican so they could vote for Ron Paul. The thinking was that RP is really a libertarian candidate on 95% of the issues, so having him be the Republican candidate would be a good thing. They mentioned that most Libertarian positions are uncontested so there's no advantage to vote in their primary.

One dillema was whether in the general election with Ron Paul as a candidate, should the Libertarian Party actually ask their members to throw their support behind Ron Paul instead of their own candidate. The answer I heard was "maybe."
