I'm curious, when the time comes, how many people will accept a REAL ID?

NO way in hell. I can't afford to fly anywhere anyway. What? Can't go into federal buildings? Cool, no jury duty! If everyone refused it what could they do?

can someone inform me on the realID?

based on the things i've read, it just sounds like a more advanced drivers license.

I opted for the "I don't know".

I don't want one, not by any means. But in my line of work, I'll probably be useless without one. Most of our contracts are through the government/DoD, and much of it involves flying throughout the US.

I fear that without the appropriate government ID, I'll be looking for a new job.

On the other hand, I don't think it would effect me all that much either way. I've already submitted to various background checks, fingerprinting, etc. If the databases are *properly implemented*, it could, in theory, make my life easier as far as my job in concerned.

However, I somehow doubt that.

:(

opening a bank account, boarding a plane, entering a court house...and thats just for the states that don't comply..the states that comply will most likly force everyone to get one if you want to work or anything in your state...

I don't have a problem with the real ID act. A decent nationwide identification card will help with controlling illegal immigration and identity theft.
