I think they all have rose colored glasses and will never wake up to the fact that the system never changed...only the taxes and the removal of more liberty.

they will not ever tell you public that they are mad with him.
He will be protected.

6 months things go to hell then another 6 months and they get out the pitch forks.

He'll have nothing significant done by the first six to twelve months....but they'll all still love him....I mean, he got elected without a plan on how to fix the country....What I'd really love to see is the media pull another George W. on Obama...after all the work they've done to get him into office....I'd probably die of laughter.

I think it largely depends on how long the media can maintain the hype, actually. How long will Obama's charisma win people over is also an issue.

They'll still be blaming Bush and 'conservatives' for the huge burden that has been placed upon Obama's shoulders, and I don't disagree with them although the liberals had an equivalent hand in it. But of course, they won't admit that.

Within weeks. The media did Obama no favors by starting his honeymoon period prior to winning the G.E.

This guy could start eating babies during the state of the union address while kicking his daughters' puppy and downloading child porn and at least 85% of the obots would still think he was the messiah. This country is doomed!

6 months - I predict a constant deterioration of America's economy this year, and no matter how hopeful they were of Obama, when people keep losing their jobs and their homes, they're gonna start getting pissed. Actually, I don't think it would matter which political party was elected president for those 6 months. Democrats are promising the New Deal which won't help, Republicans would continue with massive spending and bailouts which wouldn't fix things, and Libertarians would advocate they that we need to go through temporary painful withdrawal, which would help but would take time for people to feel the benefits (and Libertarians would also have to convince Congress to drastically cut spending, which would be a battle that requires more time).

I predict significant gains for the Repubs in the 2010 mid-term elections. They're likely to take back at least one of the houses of Congress.

.

It will take more than one term. That's what happened with Bush. He was f'in up royally by the end of his first term, but Republicans wouldn't vote for anyone else in the 2004 elections for fear of causing a split and losing to the Democrats. So, he got four bonus years of f'in up that he never should have gotten.

This is what will happen with the Democrats: Ones like Dennis Kucinich who initially supported Barack Obama will wake up first, realize that the Democrats made a mistake by picking Obama, and by the end of Obama's second term, Dennis will be so marginalized that he'll cause just enough ripples to blow a 2016 win by the Democrats like Ron Paul did to McCain.

Then, Republicans go back in office and the cycle starts again (unless Ron Paul is still alive and kicking in 2016 and wins the election).

It's the system itself, and the boom/bust cycle. Obama is only going to make it worse, but if he doesn't do much in the next 6 months(which I hope) then you can't blame it on him only.

Also people in this country are stupid, what do you expect? If the economy keeps continuing this depression then they will blame Obama/Bush and whatever.

We should blame the real culprit, the Federal Reserve. The government is also to blame.
