How is your college team doing?

Well , some of the teams I follow , not so good .Indiana , Army, Notre Dame . Some , a little better , Cincinnati , Louisville , Boise St . , Minnesota , Now If I could give you a game to watch , it would be Marshall & LA Tech , but I would watch Appalachian St , Northwestern , Arkansas again if they were playing ...

Probably best for me if I just move on to basketball , but , best Football team , is Oregon . I imagine

I'm waiting for Florida State to be lowered out of the playoff. Duh. Guess they need that regional match-up of southeast vs. other geographic region. lol

And damn already. If you have 4th and 1, then quit lining up in the shotgun. You're adding five extra yards. Been awhile since I've seen the quarterback just plunge behind guard.

And I'd say nobody is going to beat Alabama from here on out. They're still head and shoulders above. We'll see.

Our hapless Commodores were mathematically eliminated pretty early in the season. I like what I see with Alabama. Ole Miss is a good team, but I think Alabama hiccupped just a bit with them.

Not a big fan of FSU this year. Jameis Winston is not an admirable man, and I think the team certainly reflects his level of underacheivement. They should have played better all season, and I wish Georgia Tech had brought a couple more weapons.

Not a fan of Ohio State, either, but with a third string quarterback debut, they certainly showed they are more than one position deep. I thought the National Anthem played by the combined bands was wonderful. I can't imagine what that sounded like in the stadium.

I do not like this so-called playoff system. There is more subjectivity than ever, and the decision will never satisfy everyone.

I think they'll be OK having 4 teams from different conferences. I could see them having FSU #3 and TCU/Ohio State being #4, so FSU would play Oregon. There's no way the only undefeated team is not somewhere in the playoff.

None of the teams seem to have a standout defense. Florida State sure doesn't. Ohio State proved something on that side of the ball, for sure.

I only have network TV and no cable. I don't know about ratings, but I have to think they're trying to get an audience. The Oregon-Oregon State game was on network TV, but not Auburn-Alabama or Florida-Florida State. Airing a west coast/Pac 10 game over those two staples is pretty much unheard of in the southeast. I really think they're trying to give exposure to the western US. Oregon and their offense is the perfect marketing package. Airing the Oregon-Arizona game on Friday night network was also a first for big-time college play.

I had the pick of the litter today with TCU, Florida State, Ohio State and Alabama all being on network TV. They even had Boise and Fresno.

I think they're trying to whet people's whistles and trying to switch them to cable. I believe the 4 team playoff is on cable only, so network TV airing these other games gives people a taste. They did the same thing with Thursday night football. They network aired a few NFL games on Thursday and switched it over to cable.

I'm sure a lot of suckers will buy that cable crap. They've been doing it since the 1970s. I ain't budgin' though. I'll watch the game on the computer or go down to my wife's job and watch it. Those bastards! LOL.

Playoff games announced:

No. 1 Alabama will play No. 4 Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl, and No. 2 Oregon will play No. 3 Florida State in the Rose Bowl. Both games will take place on January 1, and the winners will face off in the National Championship Game on January 12.

I will probably LOL if it's Alabama and FSU again.

Please notice upthread I said Ohio State was more than a one position team and that they proved to have defense.

Sad for the Tide, but OSU certainly did more than they were expected to do.

Nothing left to say about FSU and Jameis Winston except buh bye.

Go Ducks!

Is this the first year OSU is bowl-eligible? I remember for several years they were under self-imposed sanctions, during those seasons they were still blowing other teams out and rarely losing.

I guess Oregon showed Florida State didn't belong in the Top Four- beat them by almost 40 points? Incredible!

TCU should of been included in the play-offs. The have a pretty strong case after the ass kicking they gave to Ole Miss.

Did anyone see the last three minutes of Houston/Pitt? Best three minutes you will ever see.

Tennessee is giving Iowa all they want, and then some.

We beat Ohio State.....in their house.

Other than that....we pretty much had a sucky year.

Blowouts in big games/series happen all the time. You could run a laundry list in any sport. This year was no exception.

Ohio State drubbed Wisconsin 59-0 in the Big Ten title game. Wisconsin was number two in rushing defense when they played. Wisconsin then beat Auburn in their bowl game.

TCU drubbed Miss, a team that was number one in scoring defense, and a team that beat Alabama.

Any team can be beaten at any time. The course of the season shows that these teams involved in blowouts are probably not terrible or not that great overall.

Florida State was undefeated with a schedule comparable to about everyone else. They absolutely belonged in the top four. I'll stick by post of having a 32 team playoff.

I was wrong about Alabama. They really were not head and shoulders above everyone, as in past years. In fact, I think the SEC run is probably over, or will at least be tamed. Guys like Urban Meyer and others have caught up with the speed of the SEC.

And, you had to dig up an old post to try to stick it to me? That's the best you can do? You are still sore from being wrong about the vaccine-autism thread. You know, that is the one I told you about three times, but you were too lame to address.

Frankly, you have also sucked at other threads. You should contact the person who pays you and just tell them to pay me.

I didn't see it, but looks like pretty good stuff: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=400610213

The Spartans made their own comeback in the fourth. Central Michigan made a great comeback, only to fall short when they went for two. Either way, I like these coaches that go for broke. Your not competing for a title, so go for it on fourth down, go for two, etc.
