a Romney one straw vote over Ron Paul . . . with a dismal showing by Sarah Failin'
Here's some of what is out so far . . .

"Romney wins SRLC Straw Poll by 1 vote"
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/default.aspx

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0410/35617.html
"Supporters of Paul and Romney were the only ones visibly organizing for the gathering. Paul’s Campaign for Liberty bought several hundred tickets for supporters, while a well-funded group called Evangelicals for Mitt – which says it operates independently of Romney’s official campaign – offered some 200 tickets for free to Republicans who would commit in writing to voting for Romney in the straw poll.

The results will provide a modest boost to Romney, a minor reality check to Palin and affirm, yet again, the intensity of Paul’s base of support."

"There is also sign urging people to vote for Sarah Palin in the hallway outside the ballroom."

another comment at that blog . . .

"WOW pro-life and pro-traditional marriage! 17% unemployment, endless wars, dwindling freedoms, expansive police state, patriot act, government take over of private industries... boy oh boy Mitt has my vote!!!"

Yep, that about says it all.

They're pretty much saying Romney won and ignoring it. I don't think the media would've paid any attention to this poll unless Palin landslided it.

LOOKING FOR A BALANCED STORY on the Ron Paul Victory at SLRC to publish, anyone see one please email to my rpf id or post on this thread or my thread!!

articles like this really serve as nothing more than historical record of bias against Ron Paul. look at the first paragraph. It doesn't get more explicit than that. not to mention the title which sidesteps the closeness of the vote. someone wining something by one vote rarely happens. They are all nuts up there in pressville and will lose this war

anyone that went to the SRLC,please feel free to write a story on our Ron Paul Tie and Victory and mention we lost by one vote! i want to publish a real story about the SRLC,so far i cannot find a real story on the event msm=epic fail!! so we are not running a story on it until someone from SRLC or RPF member or Liberty-Minded Citizen that wants to give us a story!!

coloradomountainmedia will not play the msm bs game!!

Evangelicals for a Mormon, wtf...

exactly, I am originally from the south. the southern baptist think mormons are a cult! that is like blacks voting for kkk!!

nonsense. there might be a few, but the title Evangelicals for MITT is an oxymoron. romney has 2 equations that he cannot win in a general the fact he supported romneycare and being a mormon. this is reality!!!

the easiest way for republicans to lose a general is to nominate palin or romney. the easiest way for them to WIN in 2012 is RON PAUL 2012!!! the gop better wake up!!!

A VERY LARGE SEGMENT of Christians view Mormons as A CULT,might as well nominate Mariyln Manson!!!

personal note,i have nothing against mormons or Christians .In our country they have a right to believe whatever they like!!

Romney is unelectable because he's a mormon and Romneycare is so much like Obamacare they are virtually indistinguishable. news flash: republicans hate obamacare!

get a clue GOP

edit: I have nothing against mormons either. It was never even remotely an issue here in massachusetts

Elbridge Gerry

Hey Elbridge, I gotta tell you that your rhetorical question/answer quote from the Constitutional convention ("What sir is the use of the militia? To prevent the establishment of a standing army--the bane of liberty") is one of my favorite founding father quotes of all time.

"Standing Armies = The Bane of Liberty" means that as long as the government has men with guns in its employ, then we can kiss our liberty good by.

Using guns to enforce the government's statutes is a power the people have NOT delegated to the government in the American constitutions (state and federal). This power--along with the power to judge law and fact for the purpose of delivering verdicts in public trials--is RESERVED BY THE PEOPLE.

If the government needs an armed throng to arrest a criminal or defend the country, then let them request a posse or call on the militia.

Sorry to go off topic. But whenever I'm reminded of Elbridge Gerry, I smile and think: "Standing Armies = The Bane of Liberty."

I cannot label all southern baptists, but lets just say i was raised southern baptist and many were the most racists and bigoted i had ever met. note not labeling all southern baptist i know they are people to. I am just saying a large portion view mormons as a cult!!

The SRLC Straw Poll was duped by a co-sponsor.
"We're actually crazy enough to do this on our own, and I don't even know if Governor Romney knows were doing it "

Prior to the straw poll vote,
the Washington Post story revealed (a good read about us actually)

Nancy French's Evangelicals for Mitt has been offering around 200 tickets for free,
for anyone who wants to come and support Mitt Romney. At the party before
Sean Hannity's live taping of his TV show, French's group handed out 800 copies
of their man's book, "No Apology," and countless piggy banks.
It's hard to say how many of the people grabbing those favors will back Romney
-- one woman I spoke to, clutching two piggy banks, snorted when I asked if
she'd vote for Romney.

So who is Nancy French ?

"Yes, you read that correctly. We're actually co-sponsoring the largest gathering of Republicans in the country this year. I know this raises a host of questions, so below I present the "EFM SRLC FAQ" (hey, I'm in the military, so I can't live without acronyms.)"

"Yes, we are sponsoring, and no we haven't been on the sponsor page by our own request."

"We're actually crazy enough to do this on our own, and I don't even know if Governor Romney knows were doing it"

there's more . . .

Thet'd be 439 out of the 800 (?) free tickets (along with the book and a piggy bank passed out) . . .

How many of those Mutt Willard Romney "supporters" actually listened to any of the SRLC speeches ?
