Any word on the Cd conventions today?
Did we get any state delegates.
Go Minnesota.

Yes we did get a few delegates and alternates from what I've been reading.... 5 delegates from what I recall reading with some shady stuff going on in CD6 trying to bind the delegates to McCain

The report I sent to national is, in short:

Despite onerous tactics from the state GOP, we won 6 out of 9 national
delegates up for grabs today, bringing our total to 7 - 8 (one was a
supporter who decided RP can't win, but we can bring him back in) nat'l
delegates and 8 nat'l alternates with 3/4 of the Congressional District
conventions complete, with 20 slots up for grabs at 2 more CD
conventions and state.

One caveat: 2 of the delegates *may* be bound, but we think the vote
binding them was illegal (occurred after the election and with a simple
majority instead of 2/3 required for a "rules change").

Our state GOP Chair is, according to a sympathetic but not on-board
insider, "having kittens." He is (rightfully) afraid of losing his job
next year.

We're going for a majority of nat'l delegates here, so need 14 more out
of the available 20. Wish us luck!

Having kittens, eh? Lol.
He did not quite seem himself today. He did not even say to
vote the 'official CD' slate, just to cast your vote wisely.
Seemed kinda odd, really.

Thanks for the news, nice to know we got him awake.

:D

It sounds like you guys did a great job and was very diplomatic. We need everyone on the board, especially that chairman. I can understand why he would be a bit nervous going all out.

As for other delegates, don't underestimate the power of beer- take them out for a beer or two and talk shop a bit.

Glad to hear people are still plugging away and making great strides. It's unfortunate the opposition is heating up, but it's to be expected. I can certainly understand the state GOP Chair freaking out--MN is the site of the GOP convention, after all--he's probably terrified of McCain being embarrassed by delegates from the state hosting the convention.

Only had 20 resolutions pass, of around 120 total, we just flat ran out of time.
The whole thing was a circus. The guy who was running the show did a great
job, however a lot of rookie stuff slowed things down.
We also only seated 2 alternates, due to lack of time to reballot.

We are seeing a lot of these shenanigans because GOP leaders are being judged not on how they grow the party, but how they keep power for themselves. That why many state party's are struggling.

Fantastic and INCREDIBLE job!!!

You guys and gals rock! good luck on the rest. Any chance of having a majority of state delegates for the 14 at large positions?

And I bet that you are not only forcing the state chair to "have Kittens" But also think of your boy wonder GOP Governor Tim Pawlenty. Supposedly rumored to have a shot at the VP slot.

Imagine the interview with Mcdufus on that possibility:

Pawlenty: "Oh Senator Mcdufus, please, please pick me!! I can help you win nationally!"

McDufus: "Well Timmy boy you know if I thought you had the ability to help me before, now when I heard what the role call is going to be from Minnesota's delegation I can see you are a loser. You can't even control your own party here in Minnesota and you are EMBARRASSING ME BIG TIME!!!!

So you guys have single handedly knocked Pawlenty down many many rungs. That night when they do the role call on National TV is going to be sooo sweet. Good work and good luck.
