I hate to speak so soon, but it looks like those pesky libertarian kids have done it again. I’m standing right outside of one of the small conference rooms at the Gaylord hotel (It’s a really cool panel discussion on how the next Republican convention ought to be held in Jerusalem–Hell yeah!–moderated by Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum…goose bumps!) and there are seriously more people out here in the hall with silly #StandWithRand stickers than there are in the room. This sucks.

Now, I’m not giving up yet. Early this morning, I heared that someone paid for a whole fleet of “Draft Ben Carson” buses to ship in straw poll voters. I’m not sure if all of the buses are full, but it can’t hurt. I snapped a photo of them this morning.

This is satire, right? ... Right?!

Of course, the fact that I even need to ask really says something about the state of our politics...

IIRC doesn't Ben Carson support Rand Paul?

Quite a while ago he was asked by Sean Hannity if he could think of anyone who would make a good president and he responded by saying Rand Paul.
Carson is good guy and friend to Rand. An endorsement by him in the primary would be incredible but I don't expect him to endorse anyone till later in the game or after their is a GOP nominee.

I'm sure he has faults but the guy is good at making common sense.
Of course I'd like Rand to win the straw poll but a Carson win wouldn't be a bad thing either. It would be a great sign that the momentum is still swinging our direction and that we're winning the battle of ideas.

Does anyone have any word on how hard Rand is trying to win the poll?

I think you are right that Ben Carson has been friendly to Rand Paul. Hey, if you partly enjoy my satire, yes, satire, will you leave an equally satirical comment on the original link: http://iroots.org/2014/03/08/how-cpac-2014-was-randalized/

Someone already took the bait:
Dearest Thad, I applaud your bravery for speaking out on such startling events. Our great nation is facing a real threat to our freedom, and that threats name is Rand Paul. If we we can’t allow our wise leaders to listen to phone calls, watch with drones, or act swiftly without trial, there will be no freedoms left to protect. These nonsense “libertarian” children simply don’t understand.

This quote gives me the idea that Carson would would be a good member of a Rand Paul administration:

After the 9/11 crisis almost everyone united behind President George W. Bush for a reason. Whether America's ensuing steps into war in Afghanistan and Iraq will be seen as positive remains to be seen, but I can't help thinking there may have been a better way to react that would not have cost us so many lives and financial capital. I believe that if the president had seized the moment and declared that we would become petroleum independent within the next 10 years as part of our efforts to strip terrorism of its resources, that business, industry, academia, & everyone else would have been foursquare behind him, and we would have been much further ahead in the fight against terrorism than we are today.

Would "Liberty" candidate Ted Cruz even think about saying that?
