I was just wondering, since many people are hearing of Dr. Ron Paul for the first time, what issues should I be discussing first when introducing Dr. Ron Paul, and how do I explain them?

What is it that made you click and decide 'Ron!'?

There is a video of Ron Paul on Youtube of him laying the smackdown on the Federal Reserve. That made me a believer.

If you're talking to a conservative mention he's pro-life and anti-gun control. He's also never voted on raising taxes and wants to abolish the IRS.

If you're talking to a liberal mention he voted against the Patriot Act, is against the war, wants to uphold the constitution, is against the drug war and is for a non-interventionist foreign policy.

If you're talking to a Christian conservative mention he's pro-life, anti-gun control, a Protestant, upholds "In God We Trust" and "One Nation Under God", and is against government involvement in religious institutions.

If you're talking to an Atheist mention he doesn't want to force religion on anyone (though every atheist I've talked to is for Ron Paul for the most part) and wants to uphold our civil liberties.


BTW, he sold me on his strict adherence to the constitution.

Go to his congressional web site and sign up for the email updates. His articles are short and to the point. As far as arguments go, just listen to what he says. He is exactly right about the unconstitutional Federal Reserve. He is a staunch supporter of the Constitution and original intent. To paraphrase A. J. Nock, the power of the state and the liberty of the individual are inversely proportional. And zero sum might I add. Read Enemy of The State. You can also get a copy of Ron Paul' book, The Case For Gold, from The Mises Institute store.

If the conservative is traditional, you might want to mention he's a Barry Goldwater conservative who stands for Free Enterprise and individualism. (If the conservative is of the big government neocon variety, forget it).

If you're talking to a liberal mention he voted against the Patriot Act, is against the war, wants to uphold the constitution, is against the drug war and is for a non-interventionist foreign policy.

Mention he is against corporate welfare, the WTO and the IMF. (If the liberal is of the leftist-socialist variety, forget it).

If you're talking to a Christian conservative mention he's pro-life, anti-gun control, a Protestant, upholds "In God We Trust" and "One Nation Under God", and is against government involvement in religious institutions.

Mention that he believes in the warnings of Samuel against kings (1 Samuel chapter 8).
